SOURCE: hoover eite rewind vacuum has blocked airflow, how do i fix?

Is there suction at the end of the hose, if not then the blockage is in the hose, unhook the hose and dig out the debris, if hose isn't blocked, then clean out the filters, if they get clogged, then air can;t flow thru them and you won't have suction. If you have suction at the end of the hose, then it is clogged down in the nozzle asm. there is an inlet by the brush roll and it comes up to where the hose plugs into. Clean the clog out.

SOURCE: Changing the belt

I'm not familiar with that model, as it is fairly new to the market, but the previous models had a plastic plate that covered the roller. There are two clips that must be depressed as you gently pull the plate away from the machine. This will allow the removal of the plate so that the roller can be removed and a new belt installed. This is a new model, so you must have the manual still. You can also check www.hoover.com for more instructions and last time I checked, they had a manual download feature available.

SOURCE: My Hoover Deluxe Rewind Elite

When you are saying "today it will not work" do you mean the motor runs, but the unit will not vacuum, or are you saying nothing happens when you try to turn it on?

If the motor run's, the belt probably broke. You will need to remove the bottom of the vacuum part that rolls on the floor, get a replacement belt, and install. Check your owner manual for directions and belt part numbers.

SOURCE: hoover eite rewind vacuum has blocked airflow, how do i fix?

i had the same issue, but with a little time and a screwdriver, i got my vacuum working like new.

First, remove the bottom cover where the brush is located. Once the cover is off you'll see the vacuum inlet hose just behind the brush. Clear out any debris you find in there.

Second, on the back of the unit, where the attachment hose connects to the vacuum remove the three screws and clean out any debris you see in there. (dont be afraid to get your hands dirty)

hope this helps!

SOURCE: Automatic Cord Rewinder is not rewinding anymore

With the cord pulled out, the rewind spring should be very tight.

The mechanism may just need lubricating, or there is a worn or broken part preventing the spring from retracting the cord, or the spring is loose/broken.

What is the belt part no. for a hoover elite rewind?? model no. UH71009RM

If you look up the Hoover page for the UH71009 (the non-remanufactured Elite Rewind), there are 3 different belt model numbers listed. One part number is simply for a 2 pack of the belts. See http://hoover.com/products/details/uh71009/elite-rewind-bagless-upright/ . Click on the Parts & Accessories tab.

I believe the belt part number is 38528058 , http://hoover.com/parts/details/38528058/sra-r-b-562932001-belt/ .

I hope this helps.

My hoover elite rewind is making a louder noise and I can smell something burning when I use it. I have replaced the belt but this did not help.

the smell is either the motor or the belt, if motor hope it is under warranty, if belt make sure brush roll spins freely and replace belt, if brush roll not spin freely replace it first

Bottom roller bush does not spin

Sounds as if the v-belt came off the idler arm or you broke the v-belt. Either way, take the 4 screws out of the plate around the roller brush and make certain the belt is there and that it sits on the idler wheel. If you remove the roller brush you'll see the wheel. Pay attention to how the ends of the roller brush go back into the vacuum when inserting it and put the plate back on. Also check the thicker main belt is in place as well, it's to the left of the v-belt.

Also, the roller brush should stop when you put it in the upright position. Next time just stand it upright so the throw rug doesn't get drawn quite so far into the vacuum.
