Thank You for your reply. After I sent you the message about the LE light. I took the back pannel of the washer off and found the washer motor was pretty much bult into the drum. and found no reset button.I did not unplug the washer but it was off for about 1/2 hr. I know some motors have overload protection and automatically reset after a few minutes. SOOO like you said, wait and try again. Yes this worked. We washed clothes for about a week. BUT NOW 10/15/08 A different Error came on and we cant wash any clothes at all. we tried to unplug for 1/2 hr This does not work. Error code looks like a upside down F with a E behind it flashing. Please help! Im sure I won't figure this one out before you get back with us. Thanks again!

We have a LG WM2677HM washing machine. We have an upside down FE code. Unplugged it and waited for a couple of hours, but when we plugged it back in the code was still there. Water doesn't drain when the code comes on as well.

Upside down FE error code comes on.

    What I have tried:

    1. unplug the unit for 1/2 hr

    2. cleaned the filter

    3. problem persists

The manual is not that helpful which led me to surf the web for answers and hence I found this site.

Any help is highly apprciated before calling for service. BTW, the unit is 2 yrs old.

    Model WM2487H*M

My solution is to  NEVER NEVER buy an LG product again.   I have had nothing but problems with my washer and dryer.  The service company was terrible to deal with.  The first time I phoned them the agent said I would be better off buying a new one than getting it repaired.  I was upset with her because the machine was only 4 years old.   She was right.  In one year I have spent over $400 repairing the machine.  Once again it is not working.   I can not believe that Consumer Report gave this pile of junk such a good rating.
If  your are having problems - get rid of it - as the agent said it will only nickel and dime you to death.

Hello momof3611
Welcome,

You said, Your LGWM2277H washer LE light flashes. Troubleshooting guide says overload in motor. Is there a reset on the motor that needs reset or does something else need done. washer was working fine until we put a big load of jeans in to wash. when we checked wash soapy water was in washer and I can't get it to rinse. drum is not turning.

If you overload, with to much clothes the weight will trigger this error your having in most washer.
Take some clothes out.

Then try this:
Unplug the washer for 5 minutes, or if you can't reach the plug, turn the breaker off for 5 minutes and then the system should reset itself!
Let me know.I'm looking right now for any reset code in the repair manual too!

Do not just turn off the unit!
Unplug or turn breaker off for 10 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This should reset the system. It's not enough to turn it off and restart it.
It must be unplugged 10 minutes!!!
And then do not over load the washer!!
Start the water filling add soap and the n clothes. BUT not to the top!
The overload of laundry load is more than likely what is causing this.
Also not more than the recommended HE detergent. If you have no HE ( High Efficient ) Detergent, then only use half the amount of the regular detergent!
To much detergent will cause some machines to stop also. This is the price of high tech appliances. The more features the more issues and problems that can go wrong!

Unfortunately , HIGH TECH , needs a high tech tech!
still let me know the progress till I read more!
I'm still looking for the answers in the repair manuals.
All the others with this problem did the 10 minute unplug and ran fine!

My front loader washing machine suddenly stop working at there is an LE sign

LG, the electronics and appliances conglomerate, manufactures a variety of high-efficiency washing machines. Whether you have a front- or top-loading model, your LG washer is equipped with an error-monitoring system. When the LE code appears in your display, it indicates a problem with the motor. The problem can be related to several different issues. In order to clear the error, determine which issue is at hand.
New Installation The LE error code may appear in an LG washer's display if installation issues exist. It indicates a miscommunication between the wash motor and the control panel. In most cases, you can simply reset the washer to solve the problem. Unplug your washer before pressing and holding the Start/Pause button for approximately five seconds. Plug it back in and set the washer to a rinse-spin cycle to see if the code has cleared. If the code reappears in the display, contact LG at the phone number in your owner's manual for assistance.
Thermal Overload Protection Your washer may display the LE code if the thermal overload protection circuit in the motor has been tripped. The feature is designed to prevent the motor from overheating and causing permanent damage to the washer. To clear the error code, the motor must cool down. Allow the washer to sit for approximately half an hour before restarting the cycle. If the code reappears, the motor may have an issue that requires a service call. Unplug your washer and contact LG.
Excessive Suds If your washer detects excessive soap suds in the drum, the LE error code can appear. Typically, excessive sudsing occurs when you use too much high-efficiency detergent or a detergent that's not specifically high-efficiency detergent. Always follow the guidelines in your owner's manual and on the detergent label to determine what type of detergent, and how much, to use. To get rid of soap suds in the drum and clear the code, unplug your washer and let it sit for a half hour so the suds can dissolve. Plug the washing machine back in and turn it on, hitting the Spin Speed button and selecting "No Spin." Press the Start/Pause button to turn on a drain only cycle. When the cycle is completed, remove the load from the tub. Start a rinse-spin cycle to clear away any residue. You may need to repeat the cycle to remove all of the suds.
Load Issues The LE error code can appear in an LG washer's display due to certain load conditions. If you are washing a large load, don't choose a gentle cycle like Delicates, Hand Wash, Perm Press or Wool/Silk. Reserve them for smaller loads. To reset the washer, unplug it and press the Start/Pause button for five seconds before plugging it back in. The LE code can indicate that the washer has been overloaded; large loads and bulky items can strain the motor. Remove a few items from the washer to reduce the load size and restart the cycle. If the code appears again, let the washer sit for a half-hour so the motor has time to cool down before you restart the cycle.

Model LGWM2277H purchased 2005 - Since 3/19/10 LE Code Continues

Hi,

LE code stands for locked motor error. When this error code appears in your front load washer it indicates a fault in the motor unit.

1 . Check the connections to the Coil/Stator at the rear of the unit possibly it should be something like a broken wire.

2 . Coil/Stator Assembly will be defective preventing the drive to operate. You should go for a replacement of that assembly.

Thank you !!

LG Tromm wm1814cw LE flashing on digital display,

Here are few troubleshooting tips that i have found. If you acquire further assistance please let me know...

Is this a new installation?
In new installations, this error can sometimes present because of a miscommunication between the control panel and the wash motor. In this instance, the washer simply needs to be reset.
Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.
Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.
Are there soap suds visible in the drum?
Over-sudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE (high efficiency) detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. In addition, detergent residue can also cause leaking and odor. Follow these steps to resolved an LE error code caused by over-sudsing.
Step 1: Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.
Step 2: Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.
Step 3: Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.
Step 4: Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.
Step 5: After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause]. This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum. Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Has a large load size been used with a gentle wash setting?
Gentle wash cycles such as Perm Press, Delicates, Hand Wash, and Wool/Silk should only be used for smaller loads. Because the cycles are more gentle while tumbling and spinning, too many items in the drum can register as an issue with the motor. In this instance reset the unit and run a test rinse and spin cycle.

Has the washer been overloaded?
Single bulky items or large loads can add extra weight to the drum and place stress on the motor. Remove some of the clothing and restart. If the issue is still present after a few items have been removed, unplug the washer for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool and then restart the cycle.

LE code flashing on WM1812CW

LE code is overload on motor. This unit actually has a magneto and stator. This is what needs to be replaced. Usually find a magnet cracked.

Le error code on my LG washer.

On LG Washers the code LE is for motor overload protection.
Ensure that you are not overloading washer, make sure to clean pump by draining at little door at lower left corner(check manual for instructions), unplug for 30 minutes to reset, now try running cycle again. if it fails again something else is causing the motor to work to hard and will require a professional.

Washer

Greetings jannd,

The message "LE" can indicate that the thermal overload protection circuit in the motor has been tripped. The remedy for this can be to allow the washer to stand for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool, then restart the cycle. If the LE error code still appears, unplug the washer and call for service. Keep in mind that this unit carries a 7 year warranty on the motor also.

I hope this helps!
Best regards,

Dorothy

LE Problem

An LE Error Code is indicative of a ?Locked Motor? or ?Overload in the Motor?. This is rarely caused by a problem with the machine and in most instances resolvable over the phone. Q1:Are there suds in the drum? -->Oversudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. Oversudsing can also cause leaking and odor. Follow the steps below to resolve an LE error code caused by oversudsing. --> Step 1: Unplug the unit and let machine sit for 30 minutes to allow suds to dissolve. Step 2: Press the POWER button to turn on the washer. Step 3: Press the SPIN SPEED button to select ?No Spin?. Step 4: Press the START/PAUSE button to begin drain only. Step 5: After cycle is complete, remove the items from the machine. Press POWER to turn on, RINSE&SPIN button, then START/PAUSE. Repeat, if necessary. This will remove excess suds and light residue from drum. Do this until no suds are seen in drum. Q2: Is this a new installation? -->In new installations, the code can appear simply due to a miscommunication between the control board and the motor. In this instance, the unit will simply need to be reset, much like rebooting a computer. Unplug unit, press and hold start/pause button for 5 seconds, plug unit in and test with a Rinse/Spin cycle. Q3:Is a large load size in a gentle wash cycle? -->Gentle wash cycles, such as Perm Press, Delicates, Hand Wash, and Wool/Silk should only be used for smaller loads. Because these cycles are more gentle in tumbling and spinning, putting too much in the drum can register an issue with the motor. Remove items, reset unit and test with a Rinse/Spin cycle. Q4:Is the washer overloaded? -->Single bulky items (comforters) or extremely large loads can add extra weight to the drum which stresses the motor. Remove some clothing and restart. If it doesn?t work, unplug unit and let it sit for 30 minutes to allow motor to cool. Then restart the cycle.
