Used Toner Bottle Full Ricoh Aficio 1035P

I use a Ricoh Aficio 1035P. The display screen shows "Used Toner Bottle Full". I was able to locate the "bottle", actually a container that externally looks like an enclosed drum/ roller, removed it and emptied it.

Once I reinserted the unit the machine still displays the Used Toner Bottle Full message. Can this message be cleared, and I'm good to go? Or, does the used toner bottle actually need replaced once it's full, where as emptying it does not help?

Certainly appreciate your advice, but I don't think this machine is the same. I know what I emptied was not the new toner bottle which I have replaced many times and is cylindrical. The unit I emptied is in the lower right corner, facing the machine, accessed through the door on the front, it is black plastic, about 2 inches high, 4 inches wide and maybe 14 inches long. On the back of the unit there is a little plug, fixed to the unit, similar to a phone plug that inserts into the machine as you slide the unit in. The unit is for the most part a sealed unit except a small hole on the top toward the front about 3/4 inch square. The thing was definetly filled with old toner.

Thanks again and if this description is something you have run across please let me know if I went in the right direction or if I'm totally off base.

Arighty then... you're my hero... Did exactly as you said and the message cleared. It seems there were obviously some print jobs loaded and the thing started to print. It was printing blank pages, seems like I may have emptied too much developer. I am also getting a functional error now of SC352. I found the code listed but have no idea what it means.

Can you tell me if I emptied too much developer, can I refill that myself? Can I fix the SC352 error? Is this error my current problem with blank pages? Is the code indicating the developer problem?

    Thanks a Million

I have the same problem but with the Ricoh 1232c. I don't see what is described above as the used toner "bottle". I have only two things that pull out that both look kind of like toner cartidges I have used with other machines - one is located on the bottom left and the other is in the middle.

I had this used toner bottle full message also.

chad7houston's solution was detailed and close enough for me to figure out what needed to be done, it is a messy process if you don't have a vacuum, and there is a lot of used toner to deal with. If you do have a vacuum be careful and make sure it has the right type of filtering system, or else it could blow used toner out of it and into the air.

The used toner bottle is not actually a bottle at all. Not sure what you emptied, but it sounds like the actual toner bottle itself. The waste toner is contained with in the transfer belt unit. When you open the right side cover, this is the unit that is attached to the door. It is a brown belt that provides transfer of the image to the drum and separates the paper from the drum. Remove this unit by locating the release levers on either side of the transfer unit (push both of them towards the machine). After removing, you will need to actually take the belt unit off of the transfer unit. To do this, remove the two tension springs on either side, and then take a small flat bladed scredriver and release the clips that hold it down (you will see when you get started). Once you get it off, you will see the long blade that actually scrapes the toner off the belt. Dump the waste toner out this end. You will need to shake it pretty hard. A better (and cleaner) option is to vaccum it out using the crevace tool on you vac. Just make sure you completely empty it. Now....do everything in reverse.

Hope this helps,
Chad

    Hi again!

If it is a Ricoh 1035P, then the advice I gave you before is exact. The unit you took out is called the developer unit. This unit is located below the drum unit, is held in place by a small metal latch that swings out of place in order to remove it, and contains the material that "carries" the toner to the drum...it is called developer. The "new" toner is transported from the toner bottle into an opening in the front of this developer unit, and then mixes with the developer in this unit, and is carried to the drum via a magnetic roller. If you are lucky, all you did when you dumped this out, (depending upon whether you dumped it out of the opening in the front, or took the cover off of this unit) is dumped some of the toner out. However, if you dumped all of the developer out, you now have 2 problems, in that you now need developer. If you will open the right side cover, you will see the transport unit that I described to you. This is what is causing your message. Trust me. I have been factory trained on this machine, and have worked on 100's of these machines, so if you have anymore questions, I will try to help.

    Chad

SOURCE: Used Toner Bottle Full Ricoh Aficio 1035P

The used toner is stored in the Transfer Belt assembly on the right door that you open to remove a jam. Remove one spring on each side and release the catch while gently lifting up on the belt and roller assembly. It swings 90 degrees up from the rest of the assembly. There are 6 screws that hold a cover on the lower assembly. remove it and dump the waste toner. *** VERY MESSY*** have a vac on hand. Not a shop vac unless you want toner clouds floating around the office. If the six screws aren't present, dump the toner out of the **** between the mylar-rubber blade and the lower assembly. once this is done, the message will clear.

I HAVE A RICOH CL3500N, DISPLAY SHOW "REPLACE USED TONER BOTTLE" I HAVE EMPTY IT AND ALSO SHUT MACHINE ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIME.

You have answered your problem yourself. You say you have emptied it. This means there is used toner residue in the bottle and the sensor is seeing this and still presumes it is full. Thats why manufactuers say "Replace the bottle". Your best bet is to wash out the bottle and let it dry before putting it back in the machine and all should be well.

Ricoh aficio Aficio 3224C used toner bottle -1 is full

On a 3224, the used toner bottle is easily replaceable. To get to it, open the front cover of the copier. In the lower left corner, you will see a white or light gray plastic container which slides straight out -- that is the used toner bottle. You can replace it (if you have a new one) by taking the old one out, putting the black plug in the hole to prevent toner from spilling, throwing it away, and inserting the new bottle. If you don't have a new used toner bottle, you can empty this one out into a large bag or trash can and then reinstall it.
