TV does not power on - Mitsubishi WS-55819

Hi, The TV has been working perfectly untill I turned it off last night. But, it does not power on any more.and there is no power LED. There is power running thru the cord. Has not had any problems with convergence. If the fault is within the power circuitry and assuming the fuses are ok, what are the other common problems? Few other queations I have are, can the prower transformer be replaced or does the whole power cicuit board need to be replaced. I have replaced convergence ICs in two WS55859 TVs before for a friend and have a basic knowledge of electronics as a hobbyist. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

SOURCE: Can not align red even though convergence board WS-55819

Did you replace the center board with the STK-392-570 chips or the Digital convergence board mounted on it?

98% of the time if you have a convergence problem it is on the center board---the small board on the left under the metal shield box stores and controls the convergence of this set.

WHICH DID YOU REPLACE?

I am here to help----I have fixed hundreds of Mitsubishi sets with convergence troubles.

Mitsubishi WS-55819 TV Wont turn on.

code stands for loss of vertical. I had one of these if you can check pico fuses, check the ones on the main power board the one with the 2 convergence amps if any of them are blown then most likely the convergence amps have shorted out.

Sounds like a problem with the standby power supplies is losing the standby which acts as if the TV had been unplugged. I would check the stand by power supplies

No, that'll do it. Once you've changed em you'll know right away if somethin isn't right. But take faith and fire that puppy up. If the pix is good you did good. If something is amiss. I'd be happy to walk you through it. My money is on you though.

Mitsubishi ws-55819 power problem

Hello DaveDaveDave, Ok let's levelset as is said in the business world today. it looks like you have an overcurrent protection problem which means that the tv set has a component that is causing excessive current to be drawn. Now this can be caused by a component withc has become "leaky" (by leaky this means the inability to prevent the flow of electrons as related to dc voltage). Your last statement is the reason I am replying how I am. Since you don't have equipment your only option is to take this set to a TV repair shop and have it repaired. I have given you a possible cause a component in the HV section that may have gone bad, but without substantial data as to the voltage levels and signal appearances, one can only guess. I hope this helps and you find what you are looking for. Thank you, Shuttle83
