Drive Motor Tachometer Error
The
control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will
shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be
unlocked after 3 minutes.
I believe this needs a hands on tech to daignose this. Unless you feel you undrstand the problem your self?

We have the same issue. Our washer is only 2 years old. I am not totally confident that the repairman that came out knew what he was doing. He had to call a technician and then he said he 'thinks' we need to replace the motor but even then it could still be the motor board. SO they are ordering a new motor. It's going to be about $285. to repair. How do I know that it's really the motor and not the motor board (control unit)? He had some kind of meter. It was measuring about 155-116 (not sure of measurement). The technician he called said it should be reading about 150-160. BUT now I'm wondering if the technician really said 115-116 and the repair man misunderstood him. What should we do?
