Hi there hickstandica,
Windows 98, 98 S.E. and Windows Millenium Edition are all upgradeable to Windows XP Professional.
Now, I'm not being a smart *** when I say this;
What you need to purchase is the 'Windows XP Professional Upgrade'.
It will not only save you some cash (over $100.00) over the 'New Installation' version, its install procedures save all your existing files and programs. You won't be needing to re-invent the wheel.
Important Note: Don't format anything. Don't delete the old version.
The upgrade will only work if it finds one of the three versions of Windows pre-existing on the machine or you have the original CD's.
All you need to do is put in the CD. It will walk you through the upgrade.
Click the ASK button under my name if you have any trouble along the way.
Mike
