I can not get my camera to power-up to take pictures use using battery power. The camera is dead unless I have it connected to the charger via direct current. When connected to DC the camera works fine. I have checked to make sure battery power is fine. I have taken it to National Camera exchange ...technician shrugs shoulders and says don't know what to tell you... but I have a great camera over here......
I really like the this camera but needing a long extension cord is quite unweildy... what should I do? Send it to Sony begging for help? or buy a new camera? any ideas?
Thank you, that worked - i took the battery out for 15 seconds and when I put it back it, it turned right on.
This from Sony website:

(2) When charging with the supplied USB cradle Ifthe camera is installed in the USB cradle, please leave the power cordconnected to the outlet (when using the power strip, please leave itsswitch to on).If you want to unplug the power cord (or switch off thepower strip) after the battery has been charged using the USB cradle, please remove the camera from the USB cradle.
