I'd start by getting a new part. Gaskets can be made from a variety of materials - and different types of rubber, or silicon, will have different characteristics. The manufacturer should be able to provide this information to a concerned consumer.

Hi,
That sub component consists of a sealed bearing and seals that are spot welded onto the bottom of the pan. Unfortunately you can not purchase this assembly separately. Sorry Hank
