Sony kp57ws500 turns itself off after a couple of seconds. No picture. Standby light flashes 7 times. I have read that the problem may be in the 'D' board. I replaced the fly transformer and it didn't help.

I just had almost the same problem wiht my Sony KDR60XBR1, except TV would turn off about 3-4 times/hr, and always go back on after 30 sec, with standby light flashing. Looked at suggestions here (on FIXya), so tried changing out the lamp as others had done, and to my amazement it worked - no more switching off! And a better picture! So a great, cheap, easy solution to this common problem.
