Watching television and it goes off by itself. It won't turn on by panel or remote control. Orange standby light is on. Turn of TV at the main switch on back of TV and wait a few hours. Turn on main switch, turn on at panel, nothing at all other than I can hear a very faint sound from the speakers when the main switch is turned on. Turn off main switch, wait a few hours. Turn on main switch, repatedly hit panel power and it finally the orange standby light goes green and it comes on with solid vertical lines, no sound , no remote response and won't shut off at panel. Wait a few hours, turn on main switch, I get sound but no light. Repeat, then I get no sound, but dancing pixels that slowly form into solid vertical lines and then slowly move to the upper right hand corner of the screen, covering about half the screen. No remote or panel response. Turn off at main switch, wait repeat. This time the orange standby light goes orange/green and I get solid vertical lines and no sound. WTF?

gets no power on and not even a light in front after I plug to the mains. Checked and power goes to the psu , main Av and the Inverter. Can somebody help? Could that be the remote control. Please help. Thank you in advance. Harry.
reset the tv with the tv off, but plugged in hold down the soarce botton on the tv for 5 seconds it should click on and work. if not then there may be curcuit board issues. i found the same tv on the side of the road as somewone was throwing it out, it was leaning aganst their trash can. i brought it home. plugged it in and it went on and inediatly went to the orange vizio light. i rest it and it's been perfect ever since is my comoute monitor now...good luck i hope that fixes it for you..
Hi, have you tried pressing the TV button that is under the On/Off button on top right hand side of remote control? Some times its possible to accidently press the DVD or VCR controls and this by-passes the TV as a remote? Another cause can be a poor or low battery in the remote itself. If you have no luck let me know & we can try some more things, however, I have heard that The On/Off Switch on the TV can be a problem. Goodluck, Jon..
It sounds like the power supply board has failed. On TVs that are this age this is a very common problem. Contact the extended warranty company and have them send a tech out.
Try manually pressing the power/standby button on the tv (side or bottom) the red light should appear, most modern tv's will turn on simply by pressing the channel up or down on the tv itself.. But unfortunately in most cases, this seems to be an internal surge and needs a professional to inspect..
Hi, l had the same problem. HAD !! l bought a universal remote control (5 euro), but unfortunetly no codes for Acer in it. Then l did the setting up by auto search and YES : there was a code. But, wheeehh, it did not work. A little bit sad l took the Acer control and guess what: it worked again!!!!! l guess the TV had a total reset, and l use only the Acer remote control now..... Female and blond!
Could someone move this to the Television section? Thanks.
