Hello,

This is the schematic for your entire machine. You would first remove the top panel by unscrewing the screws that hold the panel to the cabinet on the back of the machine. You would next slide the top panel towards the rear of the machine and remove the top panel from the machine. You would next unscrew the screws holding the control in place and remove the control as well. After you remove the control you would next remove the screws holding the from panel to the cabinets frame. Open the door and there are a couple screws to unscrew on the same panel where the door seats. Some do also remove the door as well due to awkwardness and weight issues. You would then remove the rubber boots attaching retaining ring using a flat screwdriver to pry over the ring over the front panel lip. Unseat the rubber boot termed as bellows and move the front panel diagnonally towards you. You can then access the door switch assembly and replace the assembly. When putting the unit back together install the front panel screws and the screws along the inside of the door before seating the bellows and the retaining ring. The retaining ring is the most difficult part of this job and reseating the ring and the bellows is the most difficult of this job and may require an extra set of hands to hold the ring on one side while using a screwdriver or putty knife to work the ring back on to its properly seated position. If you have any further questions message me back.
I await your reply
Thank you,
Rick
SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Front Loader washing machine - door won't lock
It won't spin because the door won't lock. The door won't lock because the door lock mechanism is bad. I ran into this many times with the Neptune's when I was working for Sears. It is not a very easy fix. It is a pain to get to that door lock and replace it. You will most likely need a repair person to come out and fix it. I hope this helps you, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope you have a good rest of the weekend though and let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck.
SOURCE: Top loader washing machine - won't work unless I slam down the top door. Any suggestions? Thanks
I think it is in the lid switch. If the lid switch is malfunctioning on a maytag top loader it will not start washing. Probably by slamming the lid you are making the connection you need for the time being. It is located at the back underneath the lid in the middle. Follow the link and you will see and diagram and parts associated with your washer. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=A4910&productCategoryId=0153000&brandId=3048&modelName=MAYTAG-LAUNDRY&diagramPageId=00002&componentDescription=TOP COVER, CONSOLE & LID SWITCH

The drain pump os obviously either blocked or gone. Lie the drain hose on the ground to drain by gravity. Then have a look at the pump. This may need to be taken out as I'm not sure if there is a pump filter on this particular model. The door is designed to not open with water in the drum.

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
there may be several ways to do this first if you press the cancel or off button and wait for several minutes without touching it it may unlock. if not check to see if there is a kick panel at the bottom of the machine if so remove it then pull the machine out about 10 inches and tilt the machine back now reach up under the machine and feel for the door lock there will be a small cable with a tear drop piece hanging there pull down ******* this and this will open the door for you.
Also these machines have a internal memory on them and sometimes it takes up to 1 hour to reset so you may need to unplug it again and leave set for a minimum of the 1 hour ok
Please keep me posted on how this is going i have more information i can give you but i need to see how all of these things go first ok?
Best regards Mike
