Check for updates if possible from mac, but if you cant do anything try the following...if you have done nothing new to the computer and this problem started to happen... best thing to do is reinstall the system. if you have the instal discs, please do a full clean install. insert disc... power on and hold down the "C" key .. the installation process should beging.
if nothing happens... time to take it to an apple store!!!!

well it may be that your cd drive has failed which would be the case if your computer can't read any other discs. if this the case, you will need to buy a new cd drive for your computer then try again.
Try to reinstall it. Go into Control Panel>System>Hardware and find the drive and uninstall the driver then reboot the computer. If that doesn't work it may need cleaning
Check to see if you are using 16x media. If you are you need to get a firmware upgrade from Toshiba. Contact their support number listed inside of the manual. They will ship you a dvd to insert into the unit.
