Depends. What are you hooking external speakers to? Car radio? If the speakers do not exceed the output of the radio, you can directly hook speakers up to the radio by connecting 2 wires. If they do exceed the radio output, you will need an amplifyer.

INTERNAL SPEEKERS do not work external speekers work when pluged in

Hi,
Check the menu. In almost flat panel tvs there is setting that allow you to select in between internal speaker and external speaker. If the selected setting is external speaker the you wont get sound from the internal speakers.

Internal speakers produce no sound

If you're sure the speekers work, it may be ether cause the there is something loose or not conected inside. There is a small posibility that maibe the dvd player doesn't have the right drive or none at all, but if it works with headfones then it's more likely that the speeker is busted so you'd have to replace it. Best thing to do is open it up and look at it and it's conections. See if anything is loose or looks a bit scorched. If everything looks ok, you could try hooking the speeker to something else to make sure they work.

When conecting a pc up no display

Sansui tv's with a PC input are usually 60hz tv's. Try changing the refresh rate on your PC to 60hz. You will need regular computer monitor to make the change on your PC.

My LG cookie's AUDIO does not work.

I had the exact same problem, i downloaded some mp3's onto my phone from my MAC using the usb cable included with the phone and when i played them they only worked on the headset but then i quickly realised it was the speeker that had gone. I checked every setting just to be sure but no luck, anyway i opened it up got to the speeker, i kept the power on and a song playing to see if i tweeked the conection from the circuit to the speeker maybe i could see if the wires were the problem and re-solder but no luck. SOLUTION i then got frustrated and played a song flicking the phone near the speeker to see if it would work, THEN i decided to try a magnet but no change so i turned it off and ten mins later i turned it back on and heard a partial sound i flicked it turned it on and off and it now works! don't know if it was the flicking or the magnet but when i opened it up and moved it around nothing happened so i say try the magnet and turn it off and on giving it a 10 min break between and hope for the best.

I realise this is probably not the answer you are looking for but worth a try it can't get worse

No sound from my HP G6000 Notebook PCs internal speakers, (mute is not on) although sound is going through a set of external speakers. Checks have been carried out on all sound settings which state...

well since the external speakers are working then the problem is with the internal speakers and thats a hardware issue so they need to be replaced if you have warranty then take it in to be fixed nothing else can be done
