Stuts,

I guess you have used generic ink carts.

You should buy an original brother ink cart.

When done so make sure all other carts are at full level:
Press menu then start b/k copy then fourtimes arrow up (tel.index). Machine will be in maintenance mode. press 7 then 6 then 4 then start b/k copy. Machine will refresh ink within tubes and print head and do some power cleaning. when finished press 7 then 6 then 3 then start bk copy to run an extra power purge.
Leave maintenance by pressing 9 then 9.

Do run a quality test print.

If you re lucky the ph will work again.

THERE IS NO WAY TO CLEAN THE PH OUTSIDE EXCEPT BY Power Purge (7-6-3) within maintnenace mode.

If you like to save money refill ORIGINAL Carts by drilling a 2mm hole into the top (O of brother brandname) . You can leave the hole open to refill the cart next time directly without taking it out of the printer.

Mix some 3ml 85%-glycerin alc (drugstore) with 3ml of destilled water and 5 ml of DYE(!) ink and refill the c/y/m cart.

For bk mix 1 ml glycerin alc with 4ml dest. water and 15 ml bk DYE ink (shake well before refill).

This is -nearly- the exacte mixture of original brother ink.

SOURCE: mfc 665-cw magenta clogged?

Do you use some very cheap generik ink?

If your ink wont match the specifications of the needed one clogging is the result.

If you have tried several cleaning there is unfurtunately nothing more what you can do: the ph is dead (for mag).

SOURCE: Brother DCP-130C refuses to print the magenta ink

If you don't print at least once a month, you will clog the machine. You unfortunately have to get it fixed by a professional or get a new printer. Sorry!

Hi, I tried the solution above "by obiewan" it work's for me but I do a little changes on his pattern.

1. Unplug your printer
2. press down the menu/set then plug it (just keep oh pressing it down until you see the message error 46 show up on LCD)
3. press 80
4. then look for "Purge", i think its on the 25th when you scroll down
5. then reset the pruge count to "0" by pressing 2 7 8 3
6. then press stop/exit
7. then press 9 twice

VOILA!!!

Replace pixma printhead

Print heads on this model run about $80 on ebay. Your best bet is to first replace the magenta cartridge even though it may appear to still have ink in it. After that, go into the maintenance menu and run a full cleaning cycle several times. This may clear your clogged print head.

Magenta won't print at all on test page. Tried normal cleaning cycle several times to no avail. Also tried "power purge" cleaning cycle twice also with no success. Help!

The magenta print head nozzles maybe blocked.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Canon Pixma MX700:one print cartridge not working

The cartridge is only a tank that holds ink. The printhead is the device that you put it into and probably has a blockage in the magenta head. Open the machine so the carriage moves to the center. remove all the cartridges.
TCT How to remove and clean Canon Printhead see the link below. The MX700 may have the locking mechanism at the front of the carriage, so you should move it slightly right and then pull the colour bar forward to release the printhead. carefully remove the printhead. Sit it in a shallow dish/tray of hot water for a few minutes and dry with a paper towel. Put it back in the printer reset the locking bar and cartridges. Try a nozzle check through the tools menu. Yoyu may need to repeat the process if the magenta printhead is badly blocked

Printing light colors does not work

You RINSED the printhead???

I wouldn't do that again.

Try taking a damp cloth and dabbing it against the printhead nozzels until you get lines forming on the rage from the ink (the nozzels you're having trouble with specifically).

Not printing black

First of all the print head is clogged just because you have tried to print repeatedly while some of the cartridges are empty. This results ink burn in the nozzle and clog. My recipe: Heat some drinking water in the kettle (70-80 C). Put the head in it and shake gently several times until ink is completely clean (10 minutes). Change the water do the same again. Change the water again (70-80 C) this time put a spoon full of apple vinegar (becomes a natural acidic solution very dilute) shake again, clean with cotton stick. I did it and started to love my mp800 again as much as I just bought it, all colours come back and started to print superior photos again...... Do not touch heads' copper poles and cartridges poles because of the static electric they may mulfunction and colours may becaome totally mixed for a short while...
