Exact same problem and Sony is giving me the run around for the last two months saying I need a new LCD panel but it is not known how long it would take to secure a replacement panel... I am so frustrated that I am tempted to take them to court

five years is the life of many of these sets, the only parts sold are boards so I would guess main board but others are possible, I wonder if boards can even be found for a five year old LG?
All symptoms in your TV shows that you need to replace its Lamp as it has been consumed its life hours and TV requires new lamp. Lamp can be obtained from Sony Website. Price is $200, Hope this info will help you to enjoy your Sony TV in coming days.
video card went out in the tv. You are saying you need a schematic. Be real careful getting into tvs. They have very large capacitating capacitators in them that can electrocute you. You need to take it to a repair specialist and have them run a check on it. Sounds like the video card to me though.
