Drill hole in China Plate

I can't even find the drill. I would go to aliexpress.com and search for a drill and batteries the matched as I suspect it is made in China (most things are)..

Most places require front plates so there should be two holes to screw on a bracket (holder). The plate should then slide into the holder. If there are no holes, you'll need to drill some.
In the meantime, stick the plate on the dash on the passenger side facing out so it's easily visible outside.

Yes, it is behind this plate in the timing cavity. Drill the rivet heads off so you can get the round plate off. Drill just deep enough to drill the head of the rivet off using a large drill bit. Once you get that and the other plate off, mark the original sensor plate and the inside of the timer cavity in such a manner that you can take the old sensor plate out and install the new plate in exactly the same spot. You must do this correctly or you'll have to reset the ignition timing. I usually use the very end of the slot on the plate or something like that for a reference point on the plate. Mark the inside of the timer cavity on edge. You'll also have to unpin the plug or cut the wires of the old sensor. Take the old pins out of the plug making a drawing of how the wires go into the plug, what color wire goes where. Put the wires through the hole and put the new plate in and secure the holding bolts. Repin the plug. If you put the original plate back on, you'll need new rivets. DO NOT USE STANDARD RIVETS. You must use Harley-Davidson rivets. Standard rivets will allow the broken off end to get into the timer cavity and damage the "cup" behind the plate and maybe the end of the camshaft.

You could try and drill out the old plug.Start with a small drill bit then go larger.Dont get into the thread! OR if you can take the rear plate off and drill it from the inside even better because at some point the drill bit will bite the plug and remove it. You can also drill a hole in the plate a little more than half way up and tap it or use a rubber plug from the help center at the part store.I hope this helps

There's a special tool that is available at most part stores or tool rental stores. It's used to press down on the plate allowing it to be released.

Your choices are few... get the correct plate, drill the one you have, or drill the drum.

I would opt to drill whichever part is the most replaceable which is likely the plate. Mark carefully an make sure it is square when you do so.

industrial grade double sided tape works, then its impossible to remove the plates again

try using self tapping screws so you dont have to remove it, you can drill pilot holes if the screw wont go thru easy, and you dont need a nut/bolt
