Raventrans click this link to take you to a website which will you can click on schematics. I suggest adding a 50 amp fuse for your 70 lb thrust unit. scroll to the end of the schematic to find the battery hookup for a 24 volt hookup.

Hi, you can get away with a 70 amp hour deep cycle battery but I generally fit a 100 amp hour deep cycle battery. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

My minn kota 70lb thrust motor is 2 years old. Brand new batteries and it will turn left & right, but the prop will not work.????

Minn kota 74 lbs. prop runs when head turns when rotating motor from centre to right, but stops when you turn motor from centre to left. The light on top stays on.

Got the Endura 30 from my wife for Christmas. Hooked it to the boat,a 12 foot MirroCraft and tested with battery and overall check, looks good so far. First time in the water on Monday, May 24, made it 30...

have you called the dealer or returned to the store your wife bought it from. they should be the ones to warrenty the motor. if she bought it used then you need to buy the necessary parts from a suitable store and move on. minn kota is a good company and they make a good product. i do understand your frustration. you might ask for a manager at minn kota if your wife brought it new and she if you can successfully get a better answer on an appeal. good luck.

Have a 3 hp. minn kota, prop wont turn, hard to

I have the same trolling motor and the same problem.
It seems the factory grease gets hard inside the motor where the shaft spins and acts like glue. I removed the long screws, carefully pulled the case apart, cleaned out the old grease (which was more like hard plastic) and packed the bearing area with lithium grease. I also lubricated the "O" rings and they were not damaged or brittle so I re-used them and put the unit back together being careful to tighten the screws properly. I have had no problems since. Also be sure to check the connections to the battery, for some reason that motor is very sensitive and wants a really good connection to the battery posts and sometimes all you need to do is re-tighten the connection if the motor does not run at all.
By the way, I contacted Minn Kota regarding the 3Hp and was told "hp" stands for high performance and the motor is not 3 Horsepower.

How does the minn kota 65 all terrain run on 24

You should only run the motor with a 24v battery or two 12v batters 'jumped' out. To jump the two batteries, connect the positive on one batter to the negative on the other battery and hook the trolling motor battery cables up to positive and negative terminals that are NOT jumped out as you would normally. Don't run this with 12v as you will have serious problems if you do. They do not make a 65lb thrust in 12v - too much pound thrust to run off of 12v.

What size batteries needed for minn kota 24 volt 74lb thrust

I use Red Hot Mama batteries. These have held up for longer than any other brands that I have used. These are deep cycle marine wet ones.

Minn Kota Maxxum Trolling Motor

I had the same problems with my 70lb, my motor just quit while on the lake, took it to a minn kota service repair shop. I had two issues. One was the little magnet under the button on the foot pedal got recessed to far down, the tech told me if it happened again pop the button off and pull the magnet up some. Simple fix. I took it home put it back on the boat and nothing just a slight ticking noise heard from the pedal with no prop movement. So I thought maybe somethin was wrong with one of my batteries. Unhooked everything, tested both of them, all good. Even though there was hardly any corrosion, I clean everything, hooked it up and "WALLA"! Power! Problem solved, for now. Waitng to test again out on the lake
