My printer display keep showing " Warning, Ribbon in", cannot print multiple label at a time

We've been having problems with this printer, very frustrating, please help. The printer display now keep showing " Printer Idle, V60.14.3Z", "Error cleared, head open", Warning, Ribbon In". We had restarted the printer many times, it is still showing the same message. After we print one label, we have to adjust the label for it to align, we usually need to print multiple labels at a time, it is very time consuming to re-align the label one by one. If anyone can help me with these problems, I will be forever grateful. Thank you very much.

The printer screen keeps showing Warning Ribbon In. It says it right after calibration too. Data is not being received completely to the printer. It is not the computer that is the problem we have tried many computers but the printer still does not run labels. The Data light blinks once then goes off.

The printer screen is saying Warning Ribbon In. It says it after I calibrate the labels through also. The data light on the printer lights up once then goes off. Therefore the printer is not receiving the data properly. It is not our computers. We have hooked up many to the printer and it is still not working. I am not quite sure what the ribbon warning is. If you could help me out that would be great. I am getting very behind on my work!

I have the same problem , but my printer is ZEBRA S4M ZPL

my solution is:

in your barcode software: change printer settings: 1 and 2

1 . in media setting : change media type --> Thermal transfer
2. in documents options , configuration --> use printer settings

Zebra S600 not printing..replaced ribbon withe as paper/ribbon light solid..still no print after attempting reprint many times (the printing result are white labels)

Just a thought, Zebra Ribbons are Coated Side Out. Take a piece of tape and press it against the ribbon, ink should come off on the tape.

If not then make sure the ribbon is the correct type and that you have it loaded properly. Also, if you use multiple ribbons i.e. wax, wax resin or resin make sure that you have the correct ribbon for the media installed.

Hope that helps.

Zebra Z4 Error message

ribbon in means, you choose direct thermal print method which is printing without a ribbon and yet you print with thermal transfer print method.

just check on lcd panel , change the print method to thermal transfer. and make sure the setting on your driver is thermal transfer too, or else it will keep reverting back to direct thermal

We have a 9855 Monarch barcode Printer. We are

If the printer display just shows Ready, but doesn't print, there could be a few things wrong.

1 - no data is going to the printer
2 - data is going to the printer, but it is not the printer's native language
3 - cable connectivity issues
4 - wrong cable is being used
5 - if wireless, data is not going to the correct IP

If using a 3rd party application, make sure that you've chosen the correct Monarch printer, as well as printing to the correct port. Sometime people print to LPT instead of Serial, as an example.

If using 3rd party drivers, make sure of the same thing.

To see if the printer actually works, press both of the arrows on the display, at the same time, after the printer is at the ready screen. As long as have the printer configured correctly (ribbon, supply type, etc.), the printer should print out a couple of labels.

CHANGE LABELS AND NOW LABELS ARE NOT PRINTING

The printer is set to Thermal Transfer mode (uses a ribbon). You need to set it to Direct Transfer mode, so that no ribbon is expected. You can do this in the control panel on the printer. Must also do this in Windows, in the properties of the printer (Control Panel-> Printers.)

Good luck.

Zebra ZM600 - ribbon in error

Make sure the ribbon sensor is in the proper position and that there is nothing covering it, like a piece of label that came off and got stuck to the sensor. Here is a picture of where the sensor is located. Did you make sure you put the ribbon sensor plate back in? If not you will get this message. Make sure the Print Method is correctly set! Although I exclusively use Thermal-Transfer (ribbon is loaded along with label stock) my 140xIII had Print Method set to Direct-Thermal and printed labels just fine. The only problem I could see was that the Ribbon In warning would not go away.
After changing the Print Method the warning went away and printing continues as before

I was having same issue printing from our AS400's as well.

Issues was resolved by installing latest Zebra ZM400 firmware.

We were on ver V53.16.3Z but upgrading to V53.16.4Z seems to have resolved it.

Good luck.

Zebra 105SL label issues

I am surprised that you are using that sequence of buttons to solve this problem. I am pretty sure that they want you to go into the "Media Sensor Calibration" setup in the config menu. It is a bit more complicated than what you have described. I also believe that the size of the gap on two of your labels might be out of tolerance (they are usually 1/8" gaps between the labels). The black marks are a problem for the transmissive sensors. You may need to move the transmissive media gap sensor (remember it has two parts: upper and lower). I would usually setup mine for a place beyond the black mark so that you are looking at just the white paper.

To start out:
1. Load the backing of a 6" strip of media (no label attached).
2. Remove a ribbon (if you usually use one).
3. Close the printhead.
4. Press SETUP/EXIT and then NEXT/SAVE until "Media and Ribbon Calibrate" appears.
5. Press "+" to start the calibration procedure. You should see the "Load Backing" in the LCD Display. You already have the backing loaded so continue to the next step.
6. Press "+" to answer the message and the next screen should say, "Remove Ribbon". You have also removed the ribbon.
7. Press the "+" to continue. You should see the screen say, "Calibrating Please Wait". After the sensors are setup by the machine a new screen should appear, "Reload All".
8. Open the printhead, and move the labels until they are loaded correctly to print. Smooth out the ribbon and load it correctly.
9. Withe media and ribbon now loaded, press "+" to continue and the machine should say, "Media and Ribbon Calibrate".
10. Press the Setup/Exit button once. It should say, "Save Changes Permanent". Press Next/Save to finish the process.
11. Do a normal calibration of your stock and print a label.

You are done. The machine will run for the labels you have setup the sensors for. Unfortunately, you must do this for each of the media types. To automate this, you could run a Configuration listing, capture the settings you just created for each type of label. Take these to a programmer to have them send the setup to the machine before the job. This is beyond the scope of this type support to really help you.

"warning Ribbon In" error message

Had the same problem with a ZM400. As stated in the User manual (can be downloaded http://www.zebra.com/id/zebra/na/en/index/resource_library/manuals.results.html?FRRBarcodePrinters=6882), warning "Ribbon in" is usually caused by the wrong printing method (thermal direct instead of thermal transfer [which should be selected for ribbbons]). My error disappeared after choosing "thermal transfer" directly on the printer. For network printers this needs to be set by an admin in the network settings for the the printer to solve the problem permanently.
