Broken lock down pin on a dewalt 708 series3 compound mitre saw

How to replace broken lock down pin on a dewalt 708 series3 sliding compound mitre saw

You do not have to drill anything out, if you are talking about the hold-down locking pin that keeps the blade assy locked down when not in use. I have created a tutorial for replacing the locking pin, you can find it here,http://mgfic.com/dewalt708_lockingpin.ht...

SOURCE: Cannot rotate the Dewalt 708 mod 3 saw horizontally

If you have loosened the handle a little and pulling the adjustment trigger didn't allow for movement, you may need to remove and clean the turn table.(don't forget, the handle must be loosened for the turn table to rotate)

Please rate this a fixya

SOURCE: How does one replace the pin in a sliding compound

I"ve never had to replace one, but here's an exploded parts diagram that shows it has an o-ring on it. I'm guessing its a friction fit and maybe you can just knock it out with a punch or drift, or maybe twist it out with a pair of vise grips...but I don't have the saw in front of me, and can't remember if the back side of the pin is accessible.
Anyway, FWIW, see here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

SOURCE: Dewalt DW707 compound saw

Did you sense an odd smell? Try removing the brushes, there should be two, it could be one is worn too short or the connecting wire is broken.

SOURCE: Can't change mitre angle

you need to remove the guide fence with the screws on the back. then you remove the throat plate and there is the bolt is that keeps it all together.

Just took one apart last week, not really difficult

Hi my dewalt 708 lx sliding mitre saw, 110v, seems to only have half the power(speed) that it should have, and cannot cut timber on a compound cut because of this, any suggestions please.

I have heard complaints that this saw does not do well on angled cuts because of its low power. Try running a shorter and/or thicker extension cord and checking your input voltage. That's about all I can think of, hope it helps.

I lost my manual and need to adjust the bevel settings

Make sure its a compound mitre and not just a mitre saw. The check in the back for a round knob with degrees marks on it, theres your adjuster.
