Wrt54g v 7.5 lost internal power source, external power is OK. want to replace bad component

Wireless wrt54gs x 7.5 has lost internal power, I can fix it if I can pinpoint the bad component. trouble shooting with My meter indicates the component that the source plugs into has an opening. I would like to know part # and if it has some type of circuit protection in the component itself? Ricky L

SOURCE: some light on; some not

disconnect power supply from the router, wait for 30 seconds , and reconnet it back then check you get the power light.. if not try in a different power outlet..check the physical connection, the modem should be connected to internet slot in the router ,so that you would find the internet light lit up.., if still you do ont see the power light or the wlan light, reset your router, if you look at the back of your router, you would find a reset button, press and hold the reset button , with a pen on paper clip for 30 seconds with the power cable connected and disconnectc power and reconnect and then check..if still not the problem is with your router

SOURCE: DO NOT REMEMBER SSID NAME GIVEN TO ROUTER WRT54GS---LOST PRINTED COPY OF SET-UP. HOW CAN I REPRINT OR JUST FIND OUT INFO

You can see the SSID name from one of your wireless computer that is already connected to the wireless network. Just point your name over the wireless little computer icon down at bottom right hand by the time. It will say there "Wireless Network Connection, Connected to "name of the network". That "name of the network" is the wireless signal name like "Linksys" or whatever name you gave to your network when you setup the router. That's the SSID name as well. Wireless Network Name = SSID.

you can setup the router manually without the CD.

1> plug a network cable into the router, and your computer

2> type the following into your web browser http://192.168.1.1

3> enter your settings for your ISP

4> choose your wireless settings (it is recomended to setup some security on your network so people can't have access to your network without authorization)

No red color

I assume you've tried it on broadcast channels and it's the same? Although it could be component failure the most likely cause is a bad connector. If it's lacking red on everything including internally generated video from the tuner, that points to the electronics between decoder and screen.(generalisation with lots of assumptions, that everything else is working ok so power supplies etc are ok and there are no error messages) if it's only happening with an external source that's an external connector issue.e.g. Scart

WRT54G

No. The same adapter should work. If it is USB try moving it to a different USB port. If it is internal then try reinstalling the CD that came with it.
