Question about Sceptre X37sv-Naga 37 in. LCD Television

Sceptre X37sv-Naga 37 HDMI port is not making contact

Recenty, my Sceptre X37sv-Naga was not making good contact through the HDMI port giving me no picture or sound through that port. I could get it to sometimes work by manuevering the HDMI cable connector. Has anyone else seen this problem? Sceptre wants me to send it back to them because I have 1.5 months warranty left but if anyone knows how to fix the issue, it could save me the shipping costs.

I have the same problem. The HDMI cable connection works some times and some times it doesn't. I was told by Septre that they would charge $200 to fix it but know guarentees. So I decided not to use it but would like to get it fixed. Does anyone know what the problem is. I will try to fix it myself since the power just went out on me and I think it is a power supply problem.

I have Sceptre X42GV-Naga (42" TV 1080p with Media Box). It has two HDMI ports, and neither of them works. Someone else had said that they had the same problem and fixed it by opening the media box and connecting some loose wires. Can someone tell me what to do?

    Thanks -JD

I have the same problem with my Sceptre X42 , both my hdmi ports do not function neither does the component cable ports.

If someone has the instructions on how to fix this by opening the media box, please share, SCEPTRE is not helpful at resolving this issue and they want extra money. I wont be buying with them again, just purchased this tv 1 year 9 months ago. So annoyed, would like to experience this tv in hd quality, if anyone has the instructions on what wires to soder/fix, please share.

hdmi port has never worked on my x37. any suggestions?

I have the X37sv-naga as well with the same HDMI problem. It worked before for a bit, but as I used it more, it began working intermittently, and finally, HDMI broke completely.

The problem seems to be a very loose HDMI connector. There simply isn't enough physical support for the port to handle the force experienced by tugging, pulling, or other pressures on the HDMI cable, therefore, breaking the connections of the connector to the circuit board.

I seriously urge anyone with a working HDMI to STOP using it unless the port is reinforced (by Sceptre if still in warranty). Since my TV is out of warranty, I have to resort to trying to fix it myself. I currently don't have a solder iron tip small enough to fix it myself, but if you are inexperienced in working with electronics, I wouldn't suggest anyone doing it yourself due to breaking anything else or worse yet, risk of shock.

Hd EZ lock by Blue Echo Solutions is a Universal HDMI Locking Adapter, the only one on the market. It works with most HDMI Cables and components and attaches to your component's chassis, using the existing screw above or below your HDMI Input or with the supplied adhesive. It supports your HDMI Cable from the component's chassis, eliminating stress on your HDMI Input and keeping your HDMI Cable in place.

Where can I get a Audio/Video cable and Power Cord for my Sceptre 30' LCD TV-X30SV-NAGA III?

They should be fairly generic and most major electronics stores should have them.

On the internet in North America look at MCM or Suburban Electronics as both carry a lot of these items.

Sceptre X37sv-Naga powers on no picture

Do you get sound? If you do, then the problem will be in the backlight inverter board. You should have 24vdc presents on the main power supply which supplys the power to the inverter board. Please verify that is the case.

Scepter X37sv-Naga LCD

The Sceptre TV do use the Sony codes. However, the cheap universal remotes do not have the buttons needed. The Volume Up/down and channel up/down are controlled with the circle of buttons (arrows) in the middle of the remote.
You can get an OEM remote from Sceptre. They still have them available. Sceptre is in California.

Blue screen with HDMI

Check the power supply modular cable connection that is by itself in the upper right corner.  On the one my son-in-law has the double yellow jumper wire that connects to this plug in two locations was loose (not properly inserted) in the modular connector and had worked it way out.
