Only half the volume on the left channel of the mixer. Why? :(

I have an almost new Xone 22, macbook, ESI Gigaport interface, good RCA cables, and 2 XLRs running from the mixer into powered speakers. The volume of the left Deck on the mixer is only half as loud since yesterday. Is there something wrong with the mixer or its inputs? I'm using brand-new cables and powered speakers. Please help :(

Thanks all for checking out. It's ok now! Basically, outputs 1 and 2 on the interface weren't working properly! What solved the problem was using outputs 5,6,7,8.

Does the left meter do the same thing? If the meter matches the right one, I would suspect the volume potentiometer on the powered speaker. Try exercising the volume knob. There might be some oxidizing on the potentiometer.

Indeed i would suspect something around your Final Output semiconductors, and any associated resistors?
You really must obtain a service manual, here there are the troubleshooting steps required to isolate and hopefully allow repair of your unit.
Look for any discolored components etc, check if any are overly hot... use a temperature probe on suspected components. Freeze spray may also be useful in diagnosis.
Use your eyes & nose to isolate the bad burnt overheated components, I sometimes use a straw up a nostril and selectively go over suspect parts, and "Sniff" to try and detect the overheated smell... it works.

Usually the connector that is board mounted is the problem. I would OPEN the unit as there may just be broken solder at the connector inside. If the connector requires replacement, find one at Digikey.com by searching for "power connector coaxial".

Hint: In the future install one of those little lamp switches that are in a little plastic box with knurled knob sticking out the sides. ONLY break ONE wire from the adapter to avoid getting the connections reversed. Since the wires are smaller than lamp cord, tack solder the wires to the piercing points of the switch .

SOURCE: Hi there. When I power

Make sure ALL interconnected equipment is powered by the same receptacle or power conditioner. Do NOT use separate recptacles at opposite ends of a romm for example. Run power extension back with your snake. There may be a failure in the unit. Since it is so new, exercise your warranty... do NOT risk voiding the warranty. Do verify that your power is clean.

SOURCE: I would like to buy

Cases are being sold on Ebay, new, from several sources, and if you can't find one specifically listed for your unit, contact the sellers as they custom build them. That is a big unit... expect to pay around $150 to $200 for an ATA type case for it.

Here is an example for a Heath/Allen 420. http://cgi.ebay.com/ATA-CASE-ALLEN-HEATH-ZED-420-ZED-420-ZED420-MIXER-/400127078772?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d296eb174

I have bought from them before myself and there are others on Ebay so shop around... You can contact the companies and ask for a specific one and DO compare the size to your unit that they specify as all the companies do not accept returns...

I get a static buzzing noise out both speakers. it stops if I hold the plug cable or master out cables? turntable wires are grounded. help!

If this is stopping when you grab a connector then you have a bad solder on the connector. a short or break in the wire or a ground is bad.

Allen & Heath XONE:42 Professional Four Channel DJ Mixer. How to repair a blown left channel blown?

If one of the channels on your Allen & Heath XONE:42 mixer is not functioning properly, it is likely due to a problem with the channel's internal components or electronics. To repair a blown left channel, you will need to disassemble the mixer and locate the source of the problem.

Here are the general steps you can follow to troubleshoot and repair a blown channel on your Allen & Heath XONE:42 mixer:

Disconnect the mixer from any power sources and remove any cables or accessories that are connected to it.

Carefully disassemble the mixer, following the instructions in the user manual or a service manual if available.

Once you have access to the internal components of the mixer, carefully inspect the left channel for any visible damage or problems.

If you find any damaged or faulty components, you will need to replace them. You may be able to find replacement parts online or through a specialist DJ equipment retailer.

If you are not comfortable with disassembling and repairing the mixer yourself, you may want to consider taking it to a professional repair service. A technician will be able to diagnose the problem and repair the mixer for you.

Keep in mind that repairing electronic equipment can be complex and requires specialized knowledge and tools. If you are not familiar with electronics repair, it is recommended to seek the assistance of a professional.

Im getting audio dropouts on channel 3 of my xone dx. its fine for an hour then the audio dims in my speakers all of a sudden. I have to turn the channel 3 volume up almost all the way and it kicks back in...

Hi,

try lowering the volume to the minimum instead of increasing it. And to mask the volume drop out, please use only half or at most 70% of your speakers at once and drop off the volume for those while you turn up the volume for to other 30% which will be the opposite volume of your main speakers. The second set covers the volume drop that you might need to do during a show. In the mean time, you can setup a repair appointment to get the volume issue fixed.

Thank you

Behringer mixer Eurorack UB802 is losing partial stereo signal in one channel. When I record (audacity software) I can hear both channels but displays one channel. Is it my computer's audio jack t

Sounds like the output cable from the 802 is not correctly pinned to your input on the computer. Fred is on the right track but you may need to take it a bit further.
It may also be helpful to use a Pro USB audio interface such as the Digigram UAX220v2 (line level version).
If you wish to use the computer's on board sound card consider an IHF/Pro interface that converts balanced audio to unbalanced , and the proper cables. Two 3-wire balanced 1/4-inch from the 802 to the left and right inputs of the interface (XLR Male), then RCA (Red and White) to a 1/8-inch TRS Plug cable onto the the computers audio input.
Henry Engineering's Matchbox HD comes to mind.
Good Luck.

Have a Behringer 1202 Xenyx FX, balanced cable into a new windows 7 PC and keep getting hiss. When I raise the gain, mic or master volume the hiss is more awful. my internet broadcasts sound awful. what am...

You are running your balanced cable into a windows 7 PC? What interface are you using... not the line input on the PC I hope as it is NOT balanced... it is Stereo input with UNBALANCED input. If you tie the mixer using a balanced to 1/8 inch balanced connector you will get plenty of hiss since you are driving the stereo channels oppositely. For high quality, get a good audio interface that runs on the USB of the PC. If you can tolerate a bit of noise but wire it correctly, then you will need to use two UNBALANCED lines out of the mixer for L and R and merge them to a stereo 1/8 inch plug for the PC.

What exactly do I need to connect a Mackie 402-VLZ3 to a Macbook Pro ? Where can I buy the cables? Thanks!

The internal audio systems in the PC's are inadequate for high quality work. You should get an external audio system that attaches via firewire or USB to your MAC. Then use balanced cables from the mixer to this audio interface. There are MANY different audio interfaces... Search the music equipment suppliers in the "recording" section of their catalog...
