No sound rechecked setup, sound works only with ear phones, please help

I'm betting the volume switch is actually stuck and that the sound is just going down to "silent" the moment you release the "up" button. Does the sound get loud and just fade away? If so then that's probably it.

Please clarify that when you press the volume keys a sound notification appears on screen or not.

Some tablets and phones have a *silent mode* that can be turned on for meetings where such interruptions are unacceptable. Look around in Settings to see if you can find such an option and that it's not turned on.

Yes check your tablet by going to Settings - Accessibility - Turn off all sounds
/Remove the mark on it

In the Home screen tap "Settings" then choose the "Sound & Display" settings. Check to see if the Silent Mode is set and if so uncheck it.

Have you check sound and notifications under settings? Once there, make sure that all of them are slide all the way to the right.
The sound is divided into 3,
a) Media Volume
b) Alarm volume
c) Ring volume

There is no sound reset, there is a system reset, which will wipe all your data, leaving the tablet as factory default.

firstly check if your volume is not all the way by going to the home screen and increasing the volume.
second go to the setting then notifications and check the app in question it might have auto turned off with an update or something.

PS: I haven't used an apple device in a long time but im pretty sure its in the setting the under 'notifications' if not there then maybe under the 'sounds' tab

Go into settings: notification center : check your apps to make sure the sound is on for that app.

you can turn your volume down which will then only work the vibrate motor or in settings go to "sound" change sound mode to either mute or vibrate instead of sound. you can set vibration intensity to low for notifications. also under "ring and notifications" change your notification tone silent at the top of the list.

Turn up the volume on the sides. Try the settings key and look for sounds. Double check it is not on silent mode.
