Minolta Multi Pro Scanner Problem - Too Redish and Dark Scanned Images

I bought this Minolta Multi Pro 2nd second hand and everything works except that the color and brightness of the scanned image appear too redish and dark compared to the slide viewed on a light box.

I do not have an IT8 target to calibrate the color/brightness but the pre-scanned image looked normal on screen (pretty correct color and brightness visual so that the possibility of the screen playing up is ruled out) whereas our after scanning, the scanned image became too redish and dark. Both Adsee and PS showed that the scanned images are too redish and dark.

Do I need a calibration or I have a weak lamp element that requires replacing.
Please share your experience/opinions. Thanks.

Jeremy

SOURCE: Scans slides too dark.

I had red lines after running student art work that done with markers and mounted (this made it think) . I ran Clorox Disinfection wipes on top white paper through the scanner. After about 6 wipes the scanner now scans line free!

I have a problem printing accurate colours, all photo's and images print dark. If I print the same artwork on Xerox 7545 the colours are bright and accurate.

What about contacting Minolta - multiple options at this link: (Minolta Support and Downloads) index If no satisfactory answer consider returning printer.

Duel trunking lites up stillno reception hand held scanner 1000 c

If the scanner is completely locked up, you need to reinitialize it, but be aware that this procedure will erase/delete all information that you've programmed into it. To initialize the scanner:

1. Turn off the scanner, then turn it on again. Multi-system
Trunking Scanner appears.
2. Press 0 while Multi-system Trunking Scanner appears.
3. Press 1.
4. Press ENT. Initializing please stand by. appears for about 5
seconds.
Do not turn off the scanner until the initalization is
complete. When the initialization is complete, M000
appears on the top line of the display. Bank 0 Ch 00
appears on the third line.

When I scan 35mm negatives, the pixel aspect ratio is incorrect: the resulting images are stretched out by twice their width without any change in height. I can fix this after importing the image into...

I have the same problem with mine; medium format scans are fine but 35mm scans are stretched. The same happens with both the Minolta software and with Vuescan. Has anyone manage to fix this?

Stripline on my scanned images from Minolta 5400 II film scanner

If some particles of dust stick to the scanning module, then while scanning they appear like lines. Clean the scan module thoroughly using Isopropyl alcohol IPA-Industrial grade is enough, dont use any solvent. You can use your aftershave (!) once or twice. Ensure that the film strips are not sticky.

Minolta MAXXUM 3xi the view finder is very dark(bought second hand)

I no the older Minolta's had an aperture problem the pictures when zooming out after they were developed were very dark. But inside and wide angel shots always came out nice I had to have the aperture base plate replaced on my Minolta Maxxum 3000i my point and shooter, I wish this helped but it sounds like something different in your case it also maybe the aperture acting different in your camera than it did in 1 of mines.

Initially, I get a green flashing light when unit turned on, but after a minute or so, it turns to a red flashing light. It will take in the film tray only when blinking red, not when blinking green. My iMac has a hard time seeing the scanner, keep getting "scanner not found" messages. I have to go to system profiler and have it refresh and then it finds it, then the scanner software sees it too. But I have been unable to one preview out of it, says LED error and that's it. Using 10.4.10 on an iMac 20" with 2.5gb of RAM, using Pshop CS2 or going through Minolta Driver of OSX I got off of VersionTracker. I did remove the screw for transport right away. Will feed in 35mm tray with red blinking light, will not feed in 120 tray except partially with red blinking light, and only a couple times out of maybe ten tries.

Hello, Verify with the manufacture of the scanner to see if you have the proper driver(s) for the scanner, also if its compatible with your OS version.
