I have a Lenovo Ibm X41 tablet pc with a stock digitizer pen, running tablet pc edition 2005. The pen seems to function correctly with the exception of the the pen input panel. The input panel will not respond to the pen. Otherwise everything works. Any ideas?
Are you pressing down firmly enough? If not, sounds like the digitizer may have a problem... The digitizer is the layer in front of the lcd, it's job is to pick up the signal from your pen and send it to the motherboard. The motherboard should have two connections to the screen, one to the lcd itself and another to the digitizer. If you remove the screws on the bottom of the tablet you can take off the keyboard and see if both are connected right.

Somewhere along the line, the Pen Input Panel stopped working. Not that it doesn't work, but I can't find anyway to get it to appear. I've tried changing the gestures and even setting one of the laptop buttons to "toggle input panel." No luck. (It's also a ThinkPad X41.)
