Fill will not stop

The machine keeps filling up, still fills up while it is washing. The water will overflow if you have it on medium or large wash. It will stop filling when the wash cycle is done and starts draining.

When I use large load cycle, during RINSE cycle, it will not stop filling the water.

Works fine in Medium load cycle.

    Occasionally, "LARGE" cycle works properly.

You may have a problem with your pressure switch. or sometimes they call it the water level switch.

try to use it in the small level and see if it would stop filling around medium or large quantities of water.

if it would stop filling , then replace the water level sensor.

tnx 4 using fixya,

After washing 2 loads the machine won't fill to high level it only fills 1/2 way

You have a faulty fill valve. Return/ replace you washer if under warranty. If not then you will have to replace your fill control valve. That valve is where the knob for the fill level is.

Washing machine does NOT stop filling w/ water!

If the m/c keeps filling, where is the water going ??? if the m/c doesnt reach the required water level it will not start, check the drain hose at the back, make sure its at least 24" above floor level, if it lower then it will just empty as quick as you fill it on gravity.

Maytag washer will not stop filling when wash cycle is first selected. Doesn't matter if I choose small, medium, or large load.

How do you get it stop filling? If it stops filling by just shutting the timer off you may have a bad pressure/water level switch, if you have too shut the water off too the machine at the wall then you have a bad inlet water valve.

Over filling

pressure switch pipe is either blocked or damaged, the weight of the water pushes air up the pipe to activate the switch to stop the water filling, for some reason its not doing so,

this is a small thin pipe that goes from a point in the machine low down, to a little round flat object (normally) up near the top of the machine inside up near the top

drain the machine and clear out the pipe at the bottom where it joins  the drum or whatever, make sure joints are made good
