I had the same problem With the DVD getting stuck in the player and DVD not playing. I was able to get the DVD out by first removing the screws that secure the top cover of the unit, then remove the cover ,then remove the face plate of the unit, mine had no screws ,it just had tabs that secure the face plate, also you will have to disconnect the serial cable below the DVD tray. Then look under the DVD tray and you will should see a white part that will slid to the right and this will allow you to manually push the DVD tray out and remove the DVD. I got less than a years operation out of the DVD player , the VCR still works though. After freeing my DVD i tried again to play it and the same problem occured. The longevity of this product is just not there for the100 bucks of what i payed for it. INFERIOR PRODUCT

Search your manual for "manual open", or some override. Sometimes there is a hole in the bottom of the player that lets you slide a knife in a push the door open a little bit. Should have something written on it, like "emmergency". I can't say it will work after that though. Sansui no longer makes most of the products marked "sansui", they sold the rights to use the brand name. I think orion makes it's basic level TV and Video equipment, and they tend to break after you take a few steps out of the store. Hope it works out for you.

Sony RDR-GX360 won't respond to any buttons on unit or remote. Only function that works is power button. Disk tray won't even open.

Try unplug, replug the unit back like about an hour later for the unit for resetting itself back to factory setting. If getting the same result the unit might have a shorted motor drive for the disc tray.Or shorted control panel on the unit itself.Well, this thing a basic DVD player only wright? If u can tries take it aparts and check out tries to repair it ur self that great. If u tries the shops, not worth it.Trash it.These basic DVD player only are very cheap now.U can get one brand new like $40 dollars.

The remote to my RCA DVD Player, Model DRC220N, has stopped working. I've tried new batteries, hitting the DVD button 1st, etc. Nothing works. The player itself still seems to work as the buttons...

You could try a universal remote (if one is available which will provide most functions to your player, such as STOP/PLAY etc.).

You can try a simple test on your existing RCA remote to see if it provides a 'frequency pulse'. Turn a radio on, select a black section of the AM band (not FM) turn volume up halfway, place remote near it, listen for pips and noises from the speaker(s) - if this occurs, the remote itself is OK. This is the cheapest idea to try first before going out and buying a new remote.

* If the unit does not respond to the universal (regardless of whether a remote code is required or not) then the IRD within the unit itself and its associated controller circuit may have failed (hence why the remote does not work). Repair of this requires a qualified workshop technician (because of the many surface-mounted components in the IRD controller circuit). *

But try the original remote-to-AM-radio test and/or purchase a universal remote or similar if necessary.

Player is quite old but used very little. Will not respond to remote. Do you think it is worth having it repaired. If so can you; refer me to an authorized facility in central Maine.

Test the manual buttons on the DVD player itself, see if it work, like play a DVD disc? The remote is the only thing is having the problems?Yes,try website like Remotes.com to buy an new original remote. If the DVD player itself is have a problems, not worth fixing, because DVD player devices are very cheap these day.U could buy a whole new one like 40-45 dollars.

I own a Toshiba SD-1200 DVD player but have lost the remote control. Without the remote control it is useless; you cannot play DVDs on it because there's no "Enter" button on the DVD player...

looked around for you couldn't find a new one but i did find one at this link,

TV remote will not work properly

I have a Mitsubishi WD-52725 TV, too, and have experienced the same problems with it. My solution to the remote not responding is to push the reset button on the front of the TV (to the left of the Power button) with a paper clip and wait for the green light to stop blinking (about 1 minute). Then, turn it back on and try the remote again. Recently, my remote stopped responding when pushing certain buttons on it. I removed the batteries, and all of the little screws including the one inside the battery compartment and gently cleaned the contacts inside the remote and the circuit board with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. After putting it back together, it works fine now.
