High-pitched noise A somewhat high-pitched noise is emitting from the refrigerator. It stops briefly if the power is turned off. The noise is not a loud, 'running' type noise but a high-pitched hum. Grateful for any advice.

we tried to work it out but it is really hard to tell. it does not seem to be from the freezer or the bottom of the fridge, and is perhaps coming from the outside.

    HI there,

I have just moved into a new place the refrigerator makes a high pitched sound. It is coming from the back. (maybe related tot he ice maker).

It occurs when the door is opened, lasts for about 15 minutes, and then stops.

I have a Kitchen aid side by side. A High pitched noise started after I replaced the water filer and emptyed the ice maker. The noise appears to becoming from the inside-not back or bottom and continues well after the fridge is unplugged.

I have the same problem and we just had the refrigerator delivered today. It is a high pitch, it seems to be when the compressor is running at the bottom. It does stop for a few minutes but then when it turns back on it is very annoying.

I have a Summit. The compressor emits a 3500 hertz frequency noise, which most likely has to do with the rpm of the compressor itself. Not as a mechanical engineer but an audio engineer, I can tell you this frequency lies in the range that is classified as most fatiguing to the human ears. It's super annoying. I have had no success in muting the noise. Anyone?

Loud high pitch clicking or clanking noise on the left side in the back. Looks like the compressor.

I have a Dell Latitude D630. When the laptop is switched on it emits a high pitched scream and will not boot. I disabled microphone in BIOS and machine boots fine. Re-enabled microphone and same probl

It sounds like a driver problem, normally the microphone is off on-boot-up. It should only be opened by a program wanting to use it.

Have you tried turning it off in the operating system, rather than the BIOS?

Download the correct drive here.

My Dell inspiron 13r laptop is emitting a very high pitched noise when it is on. I have tried reinstalling my audio drives but nothing seems to be working... Please help

If it is a relatively quiet, high pitched noise, it may not even be from your speakers. I've experienced a high pitched noise whenever i plug in my AC adapter to my PSP, so there is a chance it might be power related.

Panasonic TX32POL1 high pitched noise

The high pitch sound is comming from a power supply transformer that will resonate (or vibrate) at the operating frequency (12-14KHz).
This is usually affordable to repair -at least worth the estimate.

Your power supply, I mean the internal power suppy could be faulty, if you know how to deal with it, check it for abnormal oscillation, or get some help from someone who knows how to repair it.

TV won't stay turned on, no picture, started making high pitched noise

That high pitched noise you're hearing is the power supply telling you that it has too much of a load on it and lowered its operating frequency which in effect cuts its output way down! Normally you don't hear any thing since the power supply operates at a frequency that's beyond human hearing. In an RCA this indicates more than likely that your horizontal output transistor is shorted and this short was caused by the flyback transformer shorting. This is a common happening with RCA's You'd need to take to a tv shop and have it checked out. Stargazer
