Lines across picture display.

When I take a picture it has horizontal lines (like a woodgrain) throughout and the colours are very extreme. This doesnt show up before I take a picture. Ive tried changing memory cards and using different settings but it doesnt fix it. Does it need repair?

I have the same problem, but it disappears when zooming. Try zooming in
all the way first - the camera will work even though it's not zoomed in
    fully though.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix the problem.

By bringing up the camera information display (see below), I get the
messages "SUB ERR 0000" (probably indicating no error) and "MAIN ERR
FF30" as the two bottom lines. So it appears the camera knows something
    is wrong.

By setting the camera to raw mode and viewing the raw images (I used http://www.rawstudio.org/, but try any of the programs from the list that uses "dcraw" at http://cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/) it's revealed that the error is
already present in the raw CCD image (but only when not zooming). To
set the camera to raw mode, see the full instructions at the address
    below.

To bring up the camera information display (instructions from http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.a...

Press and hold menu button (standard menu will appear in the display)

    Press and hold shutter button

(at this point, both the menu button and shutter button are still held down)

Then (while continuing to hold the menu button and shutter button down throughout the sequence below):

2xTELE (press right zoom button twice)

1xWIDE (press left zoom button once)

(a blue information screen appears here)

Why has my sanyo flat screen television only got coloured horizontal lines across the screen?

That might be an issue with the TVs picture tube if it was not one of the LED or LCD TVs. Please get a technician changed it. If it was any one of the LCD or LED TVs, then it would be more expensive than you expect.

Horizontal lines across tv

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following
symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can
examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life
of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Jumping lines throughout the screen affecting quality of picture

You didn't say weather the lines are verticle or horizontal, but if the lines are verticle check the circuit for a weak capacitor or if the lines are check the horizontal circuit for a weak capacitor. During your check check for cold solder joints, idf you come across ant re-solder then. Good luck.
