Any manual on how to take apart scanner to clean internal reflector glasses? Thank you Vinay
I am sorry we wont get manuals for inkjet printers, you can easily open it, left scanr door, you can observe the screws,as well as on panel you can observe a small hole, insert pin inside press & push opp direction to un lock panel lift it, disconnect panel cable, there you can see the screws, these all are t10 screws, once unscrewed, gently lift it, here you can see the ccd camera, along with two attachments of belt & cable.. detach cable gently as well as belt, un lock & remove top cover of ccd unit, there you can observe the reflecting glasses, take ear buds, gently clean on glass surface..fix it back...you can do it..only you need t10 screw driver, ear buds, and confidence...best of luck.. I will wait for your info....

SOURCE: Black lines through documents
When printing from the printer we have 2 black lines. It prints fine from the computer. How do I get the black lines to go away?
SOURCE: Black lines when scan and copy documents
It is because coping is not the best way to get a perfect copy on the printer, Try scanning with computer using black and white photo it will come out much better if you are doing a pic. then use color picture.
SOURCE: Black line when scanning or copying
If the line only appears when the scanner is used & not when printing directly from the computer, you are correct in assuming the problem lies in the scanner assy. There should be mirrors attached to the scanner assy which will gather dust and cause copy/scan problems. Remove the glass & clean the mirrors with a DRY cotton cloth. Do not use any cleaning solution on the mirrors as they are sometimes treated & can be ruined if they come in contact with a cleaning solution. Use the dry cloth to wipe off the lens while you have it apart. Also clean both sides of the copy glass while you have it off. Reinstall glass & test.Cleaning the optics solves the problem most of the time. Good Luck!!

Try leaving the cover open and run a test scan, once with a fresh sheet as the item to be scanned and then a second time without anything on the table.
You may see what is blocking the light source or possibly a defect in it.
Scanning is done left-right, left-right across the width of the page and the vertical stripe indicates that the blockage is present during each scanned line.
In servicing copiers and multifunction machines, I have found a number of curious contaminents, one of the most annoying was a moth, still alive, that would randomly sit on the lamp, causing some pages to come out OK, others not.
If your copies and printouts are coming out fine, then only the scanner can be at fault.

I was just about to take apart the scanner. I then pressed copy with the scan cover open to see what was going on. Same black lines on the copy. I was looking for the screwdriver . Tried it one more time and the lines went away. This has happened once before about a year ago. Thank you everybody at Fixya for you input. Thank you Vinay for replying
