When the camera is turned on the screen shows the Kodak logo for a second then goes blank. (No icons no nothing and I know the shutter is open.)Any/all the buttons have no effect. The camera does function (Takes pictures and the flash works. I can also tell that the buttons work.)and I know the batteries are good. I have updated the firmware. The update menu did display but as soon as the update was complete the screen went blank. Is there a way for the owner to reset the camera to the factory default settings?
You've probably corrupted the firmware download. If the camera is still recognized by your PC then I'd try downloading the firmware again and try to load it again into the camera. I don't wish to upset you but corrupting the firmware can in some instances make the camera unusable. Your manual should tell you if there's a reset and how to do it. Don't forget the camera's firmware can also be upgraded by loading the update onto the memory card and running it from there. GOOD LUCK BMW
