Cd is ejected as soon as it enters the player. The radio begins to play again. I have tried various discs that have worked in there previously and that do play on other players. The player is a P512 cd/tape/radio player.
i drive a 2001 chevy malibu and i used to listen to music with a tape that has a cord attatched. but then out of no where it made a weird clicking sond and it wont even play anymore. it sounds like something broke in the car player, every time i press eject it clicks for about 30 seconds then just quits. it wont eject tapes anymore and it wont play. a small metal flap is whats making the sound it keeps going up and down and just wont play. can i fix it?i drive a 2001 chevy malibu and i used to listen to music with a tape that has a cord attatched. but then out of no where it made a weird clicking sond and it wont even play anymore. it sounds like something broke in the car player, every time i press eject it clicks for about 30 seconds then just quits. it wont eject tapes anymore and it wont play. a small metal flap is whats making the sound it keeps going up and down and just wont play. can i fix it?

Mine did the same thing. My player was primarily used in the garage and the cold weather may have caused my player to do the same thing. I just fixed my player. I removed the top cover and looked at the CD in the play position. In the upper right corner from the CD, you will see a spindle motor with a belt on it. Gently spin the motor back and forth carefully with your finger. I rotated it a half-spin in either direction, careful not to dislodge the belt. When I turned the player back on, the mechanism operated as it normally would and began playing the disc. I was able to eject and reinsert the magazine without any issues, solving the problem. Hopefully that will work for you.
HI lisasmith566 IT is not a fuse problem . the problem is your the CD part of the radio must likely the cd is stock or more likely the cd drive motor is defective . FIRST try pushing eject on radio and see CD comes out if not you need a new radio .

Important: Do not attempt to play CDs with paper labels on them in this
CD player. The labels may warp or wrinkle and jam the CD player
mechanism. Refer to the Compact Disc Care and Cleaning procedure
(Document ID# 1656123) in SI for more information.
Technicians are to reprogram the radio with new operating software using the following procedure:
1. If the radio has a CD(s)2008 General will be necessary to reset the radio and remove them
before the radio is reprogrammed. Remove and reinstall the radio fuse to
reset the radio and then eject the CD(s). If cycling the power to the
radio does not allow the CD(s) to be removed, the radio may have another
failure that will not be corrected by the reprogramming procedure that
follows. Refer to the Diagnostic Starting Point - Entertainment
procedure in SI to begin your diagnosis of this failure to eject CDs
concern before reprogramming the radio.
2. Reprogram the radio using the Service Programming System (SPS) with
the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the SPS procedures
and the Radio Programming and Set procedure in SI for more information.
As always make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software
version.
3. Verify proper operation of the radio and make sure that all CDs can be ejected.
I have an 05 jeep grand cherokee and the other day when I went to hit the the eject button on the CD player it automatically went straight to the radio. After I restarted the vehicle I could hit mode and it would begin to play the cd again but if I tried to hit eject it would go to the radio again. It doesnt have a disc changer and everything else on the factory head unit is working find, the radio, all that stuff. I didnt want to start tearing things apart or trying to dig it out. I have sees some others with the same problem on here, but the answer are like "dig in there with tweezers" and I dont think thats the best possible way to solve the problem. Any Ideas?
Its dirty, try a disc cleaner, (brushes not solution) and if that does not work, its time to replace, (unless the radio is all ya want). ALSO- if you are trying to play burnt discs, (cd-r, mp3 discs etc) than that could be the issue as not all indash cd players support non store bought cds
well i don't have a 6 cd changer but i have had a few problems like that and all i can tell you is using something to unjam as soon as you hit the eject has been working just fine for me .......hope it helps a bit
Per manual, you can lock a cd in by pressing and holding the power and cd button for moer than 2 secondsthe cd cannot be ejected. if acd is inserted upside down, please -eject appears.
