My frdge displys EC21 which is an defrost overheat . How do I repair this problem. The fridge still works good. Thanks
EC 21 has nothing to do with the refigerator. From the 600-2 series service manual page 3-21 EC 21 is
Defrost Overheat fault.
The defrost system is only in the freezer and on a completely seperate refrigeration system. Clear the EC by holding the bell key pad down until you here a tone this is going to be a minimum of 15 but can be as long as 30 depending on the generation of your appliance. The part that you will most likely need to replace is the defrost terminator which stops the defrost cycle. You may have also had a problem in the refrigeration section which did fix by yourself, good job.

This is the 3rd time & the tech states he replaced the sensor ,it works for about a week & the error ec 21 comes p again.
I repaired my problem EC21 means the compressor is running too long. this is because the fridge has a leak and it is taking too long to bring the fridge down to temp.I topped up my system fridge is working fine and the trouble code is gone. I sent an email of to sub zer to see if they would send me an evap.I hope they do
I repaired my own fridge. what happens is that the compressor is working too long to keep the temp. If you remove the fridge back panel you might see ice buildup , which means that you have a very small leak. This has cused the compressor to work to long giving the 21 code. Anyway as soon as you recharge to the proper amount of gas and the fridge is working as it is supposed to,the code will go away.Hope this helps
