you need drivers. to play DVD's I found a killer totally free player that does nothing but play movies. no sypware, spam or reminders to buy or limitations. http://www.videolan.org/ speaker are going to be audio drivers. right click my computer - properties - hardware - device manager, what ever needs drivers will have a yellow question mark

you have to replace the display panel, for this you can order the panel from the HP itself, it will be much cheaper, and for replacing consult a technician, it won't cost more,
or you can attach a external monitor through the vga port and can do your work.

or if necessary you can get a tech to help install. Usually theres a series of beeps when you get a blank screen. Hp pavilion laptops also get hot on the keyboard after a while from long term use and zd 8000 came out about 4 years ago so the display should be a pretty good looking glossy screen. Those are nice laptops to work with by the way.

Yes tried that, and pressing the windows button and P but nothing happens. I get options on other computers when these buttons are pressed
What Operating System? It is either the settings in Windows, or a bad Keyboard.
Press the Fn key down, and at the same time tap on the F4 key. (DisplayToggle-Over key)
