I have a Samsung LED DLP 1080p TV (HL61A750). I have sound but no picture. It takes several attempts for the TV to actually turn on, if at all. Can you help diagnose the problem?

It depends if you are a Digital Light Processing engineer?

LCD and DLP are two new and different imaging technologies for flat screen TVs. LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display and DLP stands for Digital Light Processing. Both produce accurate and sharp images. The differences are in display, price and performance. ... Both DLP and LCD television screens are slim and lightweight.

Sharp tv showing dark picture in bacground

If the screen is dark with an image in the background that you can sort of see, it would indicate that the backlighting module has failed. It may be just the power supply or it could be the actual light module itself. If you google the part number of your TV you are likely to find out if other people have had the same issue or if there is a known easy fix.

Do I need to clean the screen on a DLP television? I have only changed the bulb. I feel like the picture is getting less sharp.

Not the screen so much as the projection mirror which is located on the rear wall of the Set. If the mirror gets dull it can make the picture dim and dull looking. Cleaning the mirror will help. Some models have a small mirror which projects the image back onto the rear mirror. Dont use windex, just a damp cloth then dry good.

Broke screen

The mirrors are just mirrors, any paint/glass store can get new ones cut for you if you take the pieces of the old one in. The screen is going to be a hard one though. Actually if you can find (which I am sure you will be able to) another broken tv, very seldom is there any damage to the screen itself. There are two parts to the actual screen though, a tinted piece that dims the picture and a frosted piece that catches the image. Good luck!

Hitachi 46'' Rear Projection TV has distorted picture

Make sure no one pushed the front screens in a little. That will cause exactly what you have. I've seen cases like this where someone would move there set with one had pushing on the front screen and dis-lodging them creating that problem... Hope this helps.

Shadow on Flat Screen TV

Projection TV correct? This may take some work but it is common for a spec of dust to settle onto the Mirror inside the TV, The back side of the TV screen or onto the Lens from which the Video image is projected. Some TVs have ports that allow you to access the inside of the TV from the side, others you must remove the screen.

This is not something to do every day or every week and it will not improve the picture. You only do this when you notice that it is dirty. Any more than that and you yourself will create a bigger problem. ONLY LIGHTLY DUST the screen. Soaps, water and windex will leave streaks, damage the screen and cause more trouble.

Projection TVs are the eqivalent of a big flashlight showing onto a wall. Put you hand in front of the light and you get a shadow.

Inside you TV there is a light (the TV picture) that bonces of a mirror attached to the inside of the back of the TV. The light reflects off the mirror onto the back of the screen. You view this refelected image from the front. Spiders commonly make webs inside the TV that appear in the picture. Dust Bunnies may get blown into an area and become stuck in the way. Sometimes a lite tap, shake or blow may remove this also.

Flat panel displays half screen, mirrored on bottom half of screen

Have several problems with either a bad LVDS cable from Main unit to the LCD controll bd. Sometimes the cable is just not connected properly. If you reseat this cable and the problem still exists you most likely have a bad LCD control bd.

I found a local tv repair guy who sold me the the CRT fluid for $80 and I gave it a go. It wasn't easy, but it worked. If you are really interested I'll tell you how I did it.
