Hi brengaynor,
When you say CD will not open are you talking about the CD drive tray not opening at all (i.e. you're not able to insert any CDs into the PC) or the program/game CD that you inserted into the computer is not installing or playing?
If the problem is the latter one then I suggest that you try other program/game CDs to see if you're able to play or install those CDs. If they work while this one CD you're trying to install doesn't then maybe you're clicking on the wrong setup file or otherwise there is another procedure to install the program/game into the computer. Consult the manual of the program or the game manual for proper instructions on installing the game. The password can also be on the CD case or manual itself so check it out. Otherwise, visit there website or call up the manufacturer of the game or program you're trying to install/use for further help.
But if your problem is the first one, then to troubleshoot this you have to check if the drive is even getting power when you turn on the computer (blinking light/flashing light), if not then you may need to open up your computer chassis and check the connections of your CD drive for desktops now for laptops you may need to just unscrew the drive from the system and take the whole thing out. Reseat the cables at the back of the drive and even swap power connectors with the hard drive then try again for desktop systems now for laptops you just need to check the drive for any damage and just firmly put it back in place in the drive bay and screw it in place. Power on and try the eject button, to see if it works. If that still doesn't work, and the drive is still not getting any power, then you may have to replace the CD drive itself.
Hope this helps!
Peace! :)
