I have a Spectronics TV and the power is dead. No lights, no sound just nothing

I cant see your TV. maker nor model , of 1000s
nor can I see if HDMI cables are attached, or optical sound cables.
nor if TV has external speakers or top brand RECEIVER to them.
is it a SMART TV< with TV screen apps and all that?

The TV can lose sound easy if you have the sound setting wrong
but the screen dead is 10x worse if true means mostly internal power supplies are dead.
my TV makes chime tuned on did yours before?
My LG even has logo for LG, as turned on, did yours?

Have you checked whether mains power reaches the power board? Check it first. If yes, the power board you purchased newly should be checked.

Yes,the tv power supply board probably have dead components,likely a couples of capacitors on the power supply board have gases leakages,it dead,not funsctions any more.Take it to the tv shop pay for trouble & repair for you,this tv name are spacially made for and sell by the Target stores only.Very limited whole board parts,available on the net to buy.

U check the power source?Take the tv aparts,check or replaced the power fuse,might get lucky.Not,than sorry,this tv can't be repair,without replacing electronic's componnents parts.Hire the same shop to do the repair.Ur tv power ICS inverter are dead.

U have sound at all?Yes,than ur LCD INVERTER backlight board it dead.If power LED light keep flashing nothing on,sound or picture.Than the power supply board is dead.Must replaced the power supply board.Tries Websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy these refurbish boards.

Since your tv is 15 month old, you've still got waranty left.
Just contact you supplier or LG service.

heard a pop sound -- then the set went dead -- no lights, no nothing, and then there was a slight electrical burn smell coming from the back of the set :(

You say didn't do anything, Like did you hear a squealing sound or did you see led lights on front of panel or just dead nothing? If dead and nothing then look for fuse blown in power supply if not then there maybe a small sound coming out of set when you press power if so then the power supply is trying to start up then you will have to look elsewhere like horizontal or convergence or vertical areas.
