Kitchenaid stopped working - KitchenAid K45SS Classic Stand Mixer

  • Anonymous Feb 08, 2012

Whilst our Kitchenaid was working this morning, it just stopped and would not turn on again. No strange sounds or smells noticed. It is relatively new - just over 1 year of service in a small bakery.

Hiya,

I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your KitchenAid mixer. It may just be that your motor brushes are worn down or have not been put in correctly. I have added links below for our help videos on replacing the motor brushes and have also added a link if you wish to purchase a new set:

KitchenAid stops working when anything other than liquid is in the bowl..

There is a non metal gear inside the motor head that is stripped and no longer engaging the worm drive. What happens when you try to assist the turning process (try it only on stir speed, sloooowwwww) if it starts to turn and then stops again then it is the gear I spoke of. It will require tearing down the machine, cleaning all old grease, to insure that you have no ground up parts in the grease, then replace the grease gasket and gear. Hope this helps

Kitchenaid 525 stopped working while mixing cookie dough

Let it completely cool and then start again. It overheated because your speed was set too low for the heaviness of the dough. I have burned up three kitchenaid stand mixers so far making bread. go up one setting at least; if it is straining, go up another.

HOW TO TEST A PHASE CONTROL BOARD ON KITCHENAID MIXER

I am sorry to say but only with a new one, about 30 bucks and five minutes of work, but if your mixer has any speeds working except only high (only high means it is the phase control board) then it is more likely the speed control board is bad rather than the phase board. Can you send is more info on what happened when the mixer started or stopped working. We can be of more help with more info

Kitchenaid mixer stopped working in mid-use. No warning and now it won't work at all--checked plug and electrical connection and that is fine

Mixer has a power control board inside the domed end cap. If it has failed then you this would cause these symptons.

KitchenAid KSM50P mixer sporadically stops working

Hi, This sounds like you have an issue with the planetary gear system. The mixer has a plastic worm gear inside the planetary that is prone to wear and failure. I would bet that it needs replaceing.

W!ill not start up

Hi Karl. Have your mixer repaired by a shop that has experience repairing Kitchenaid mixers. Don't think for a second that a new mixer will solve your problems. The new Kitchenaid mixers are not as durable as your old one and are made with an absolute minimum of quality. Quality costs money! ricardok45
