Is there any way to bypass the parking break guard for a video system in a car?
My girlfriend bought this deck for me so she could watch movies on road trips, but it won't let us play movies while driving, I know its a safety feature, but is there any way around it?
So are you saying to take the wire off the brake and ground it? So I would have two grounds? So are you saying to take the wire off the brake and ground it? So I would have two grounds?

The Stereo is looking for a ground signal on the parking brake wire. It's a safety feature so that you are not watching movies while driving. To bypass this you will need to connect the stereo's parking brake to ground.
The parking brake wire (light green) from the kenwood unit needs to see ground. You could either ground the wire or use a toggle switch to ground the wire.

The parking break switch in your in-car video player is a safety feature that is required by law, bypassing or disabling this switch is NOT recommended by any means. there are two ways to do this, there are marketed products designed to do this that come with a few parts and an instructional dvd. Or you may purchase simply a toggle switch, and some wire, and do the following.
There is a wire connected from the back of the dvd player deck to the parking break indicator bulb or wire on the dashboard (the light that comes on when your parking break is on). This wire can be disconnected from the parking break lamp and attached to a toggle switch, and then to a power source (12v+). With most manufacturers there is a "code" to enable video. Generally it's something to the effect "turn the parking break on for 1 second, off for one second, and then back on, and leave it on". Whatever the code is for your unit, you may now do the same with your switch to activate video.
One of the wires at the back of the deck should be labelled parking brake. That is the wire that controls video playback. Just ground that wire and you should be good to go.
