F1 code i have the whirl pool cabrio top washer , after two years, it now throws a F1 code every time you try to start the washer, it takes at least 5 times to restart it. i have called whirlpool twice and they are refusing to address the problem, cause my washer is too old.... so my question is, if we pay our own money to fix this, will it happen again, and is this common with whirl pool applainces? we are getting ready to re do our kitchen and we planning on purchasing whirl pool
Well they refuse to adress your issue under a warr. beacause of age , but im certain that a whirlpool auth. servicer will glady adress your issue. As for the F1 generally relates to a faulety control board. but would want( a serveicer ) to check in more detail before jsut askin you to replace the board

Whirl Pool Cabrio LD Temp fix pt.2. animal131 ... How to override an error code on the Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Duration: 3:08. Whirlpool ...
Error code F1 is caused when the control on your washer is either bad or about to go bad. This is a common issue with Whirlpool Cabrio washers and they are aware of this. I have also seen them replacing the control without any charge, don't really know about the labor charges but they usually won't charge you for the part. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
The Whirlpool Cabrio and Kenmore Oasis (same machine) are infamous for this problem. Depending on the serial number you may be entitled to a new control board installed for free under a recall program. Call Whirlpool for eligibility. I had just had mine replaced last week for free and it runs fine now.
Get in touch with whirlpool and they should fix it for free. F1 is a control board error, and whirlpool did a recall on the cabrio control boards, so they should take care of it for you.
your agitating belt might be slipping or worn, try holding the switch down with a pencil, and keeping the lid open and see if the agitator is moving or sluggish..good luck.
CALL 18002531301 AND TELL THEM YOU HAVE THE F 1 CODE PROBLEM. THEY HAVEN'T CALLED THIS A RECALL, BUT THEY ARE CALLING IT A CUSTOMER AWARENESS PROBLEM.
WHIRLPOOL IS SENDING TECHNICIANS OUT NEXT DAY FREE OF CHARGE.

I just called Whirlpool...800-253-1301 in USA and a lovely lady informed that there is a recall on the Cabrio Whirlpool washer for the F1 code. We set an appointment and the service call and parts will be free to fix the issue.
