I get a continual Program Alert from my Norton Firewall program: "A remote system is attempting to access your system." I'm using Windows XP, and a DSL internet connection. I continually (at 3-5 minute intervals) get this message even though I direct the program to "always allow." The messages appear whether I'm on the net or not.... VERY FRUSTRATING
I suggest not using norton. Goto www.avast.com and use the Free home-edition. Set your windows firewall back to defaults after norton is uninstalled.
Make sure to have Avast scan every file on your system. You very well maybe infected.
Please do not think norton is all that great because you payed for it. Get Avast.
G'luck
