Run a half test. Put paper in the manual feed tray. Print something, anything When the paper is 1/2 way into the printer, open the cover. Pull out the toner cartridge. Look down at the paper. Does it have a black line on the right side? If yes, replace the cartridge. If no, replace the fuser.
yes you have to catch printer making the line and then as a page is being printed you need to open door to stop paper after green cylinder(drum) as it is entering fuser, then you need to remove paper from printer without pulling through the fuser, if you see the line then rub your finger across line up and down page, if it smears at all then its the cartridge if not then the fuser
Does this happen both when copying and printing? For printing solution, try another toner cartridge. If lines continue to appear when copying (primarily through the automatic feeder) then lift the auto feeder, and clean the glass -mainly the narrow piece on the left side.
This is caused by toner contamination in the laser scanner unit, it is quite a complex job removing and cleaning the laser scanner. I would suggest you contact HP regarding the repair.
1- black lines are from the drum: it has burnt out on that particular spot and rotates
2- the white horizontal gap space if it is not you skipping space is also from the drum
3-the white Vertical is most likely from the developper (unit that has the toner and is against the drum, look at the roller it should be solid black, maybe there is something on it : hair paper etc....
Hey Paul,
Can you post a scan of the printed paper? It may help diagnose your problem.
The most common cause of lines accross the page is either the PhotoConductor Unit or the 2ND BTR Assy.
I resolved the problem, but thank you for your inquiry
