I have changed the flex ribbon on my n80, but now when i turn it on the buttons light up but the screen is blank

dear,

you changed due to this kind of problem?? is it...

if yes, then properly plug the strip/ribbon properly and if it is properly connected then you have to check the ribbon itself because sometimes it doesnt work....as i experienced.

goodluck..

How do i change the housing on my 6500 slide mobile

You need a T5 screwdriver and a new housing... Use an Original housing, copies dont usually fit right... 1, Remove Back cover and Battery. 2, Remove 4 T5 screws at the back of the phone, run your fingernail/opening tool around the housing and it should come away a little, dont pull it apart as there are 2 ribbons one for the Screen the other for the keypad. 3, Turn the phone over and run your fingernail under the keypad. 4, Carefully take the bottom half away with the phones PCB still in the bottom housing, using a flat screwdriver carefully lift off the two Ribbons 5, You can then remove the keypad from the top part of the phone, this is stuck on by double sided tape pull downwards, there are 2 spring loaded pieces on each side. 6, Remove the 4 T5 screws, 2 under where the Keypad was and 2 at the top 7, Again using your fingernail or a opening tool run around the edge and the screen part should come apart, dont damage the ribbon You now have the phone apart take out the bits and change what you like :)

Nokia n95 8gb lcd is blank but i hear it's turning on

if its blank you have to replace the lcd screen with a new one.
sometimes it maybe a flex cable problem which occurs in some slide phones.

at mobile phone repair stores, the cost of an original lcd screen replacement is usually $150-$200, though sometimes an original lcd screen may not be fitted into your device but rather a hong-kong made one which is similar to the original but is less brighter and a little less sharper.

if you take it to a nokia care centre to replace the lcd screen you may have to pay over $250.

you can just buy an lcd screen off ebay, replacing the lcd screen yourself isnt hard with the tools provided. you just have to take the ribbon cable from the old lcd screen and insert the new lcd screen and plug in the ribbon cable for it.

the reason for original Nokia n95 8Gb lcd screens being so expensive to repair/replace is that it is also the same lcd screen used for the Nokia N96.

cheers.

Acer Aspire 5100 new screen and still goes blank.

ACER PICTURE PROBLEM – MY SOLUTION

I had a similar problem, but I got a picture before it broke up and went off. The screen was backlit, but no video (screen was receiving some power).
The LCD needs a very stable voltage to work, this is provided through the LCD connector ribbon. In my case the ribbon was damaged and replaced it.
I have had no problem since.

I discovered this through trial and error; I first changed my transformer power supply and then the video inverter card.

You may find the link below helpful as it contains articles that photographically show you how to open the laptop for repairs.
