I use windows XP and every time I turn off my computer and turn it back on XP says the TSP printer is offline. I have to pull the usb in and out of the port several times before it eventually recognises that it's connected and goes online. I have reinstalled the drivers and it doesn't seem to be a driver problem or an emulation problem. It's just that XP does not seem to like it. I've also tried the serial number solution star micronics suggests but that doesn't work either. Still offline when I turn off computer. The printer works 100% fine in windows 7
Hi Valued Star Customer
It seems like the USB host may be going into "sleep mode" and not awakening. Please contact Star Support at [email protected] for documentation.

Hi,
For the Raster Driver for Windows 2000 & Windows XP, please click HERE and choose Agree to the disclaimer, then download.
For the Line Mode Driver For Windows 2000 & Windows XP, click HERE and choose agree.
If you require further drivers/documentation, you can go to the download page on Star Microtronics website, choose what you need, download and install. (You will have to register for free by filling out a short form).

SOURCE: Extra Long Receipts
we have Star TSP 700II and it is doing the same. not just 4inches but sometimes it adds extra 20-30 inches blank space. I think it was due to incorrect paper size settings.
Why dont you to go printer properties->Device settings and change the Friction size..as well as set Pagecut to Partial.
Also change preferences under Properties, advanced and change papersize to what suits you .
pl let me know what happens soon
