I tried a different port and a different usb. No help.
I think my computer is not recognizing my camera, whereas it used to, (2 weeks ago).
How do I get it to recognize the camera. Do I download a driver that matches the amount of pixels on my camera?

Why won't mu usb cord work for downloading pictures

Here is one possible solution. Some devices require that you use the USB cable that came with the device. Other USB cords won't work. This happened on a Nexus tablet I bought recently. When I tried to charge it with another USB cord, nothing happened. I had to use the exact USB cord that came with the tablet, even though both cords looked identical.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

My USB cord quit working

If the pictures are stuck in your internal camera memory, you will need a cord to get them off unelss you can transfer them to your memory card first. You should be able to copy the pics there.

I cant put pictures onto computer?

you have several options.
1. see first what operating system you computer runs.
if it is vista or mac, it will be recognized as unknown device,
look for SSCAM100 or DCIM folder. you will then see the camera files in that folder.

2. you should also download the cd driver, the cd that comes with the camera, to your PC. this will help the connection be proper.

3. if you're using desktop, try to connect the camera at the back of your tower. look for a USB port at the back of the tower and connect USB cord to it.

4. make sure you're using the proper USB cable, the cable that comes with the camera. for your S630, it is USB cable type 2.

5. also, make sure before you connect camera to PC, camera is turned off, when the USB cord is properly connected, that is the time camera should be turned on.

6. when unpluggin the camera to PC, make sure that you are safely removing the device from the PC so you will not have future connection problems.

hope my suggestions work for you.
