I HAVE A HARMAN KARD HK300XM. THE DRIVE KEEPS DROPPING OUT WHILE PLAYING. WE CLEANED BUT TO NO SATISFACTION. EMAILED AN ON-INE REPAIR SHOP DEDICATED TO HK BUT THEY NEVER ANSWERED. ANY SUGGESTIONS? I LIVE IN A NERSING HOME & WOULD ENJOY ITS FEATURES. I OFTEN COPY CASSETTES TO CDs FOR MANY RESIDENTS. THE HK300XM CAN BE TRIMED IN MANY WAYS MAKING WORN CASSETTES SOUND BETTER. JOE MARSHALL

This is an expensive set, and the fault is just mechanic, probably you need to have the tab that stops the tray eject/load pulley to be replaced.

The best thing to do is getting quilfied support from the factory, either ringing the phone number listed on the owner manual, or checking the website support contact here Harman Kardon.

Nothing to do with cleaning .actually Try checking only one surround lpcm mode and trying it, and then switching and repeating.this should solve your problem.

Hi,

Initially, pls inspect/clean or replace:

  • belts;
  • rubber pulleys.
Should these be not corrective, you may want to do the same with:
  • counter belt;
  • rubber tire on the rim of the plastic friction wheel (You need to open the back of the unit).
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

If the tape drive isn't functioning correctly on your HK300XM it is most likely best that you take the device for repair a local radio - electronics repair man should be able to fix the problem with the tape drive, as its generally the same as in normal radios. Does the shop you contacted have a phone number have you tried calling them?

  • Ekse Oct 25, 2008

    any local radio repair tech should be fimiliar with the tape drivers and able to fix them.

How do I fix my audio/video receiver that has no sound coming out of it?

If your unit has a speaker protection mode (5-8 second delay when 1st turned on) defective speakers and/or speaker wiring may be causing the protection circuit to do its job...protect the speakers. Disconnect all speakers and test HK in all modes (tuner, CD, DVD, etc.) using headphones. If you still cannot hear audio then it's time for a shop repair. Although I recommend factory authorized service whenever possible, a "local" shop that is certified by other well-known brands may be an option. If Yamaha, Onkyo or Luxman certified your local repair shop then it's a sure bet that they can properly repair HK's no longer under warranty.

Picture on my lap top screen keeps dropping down,when i am playing games..can I stop this.

You might wanna terminate the process that causes that picture to drop down frequently.

Goto : Start > Run
Type : msconfig
Press : Enter

Now you should see the System Configuration Utility.
From here, open the "startup" tab and disable any possible/unwanted program that you think is causing trouble.
Restart your computer & Voila!

#Alternative
Press : Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open Task Manager
Under the processes tab, find the process (if you've identified) it and click on "End Process"

Tip : Window Title is shown on the right side of the process.

The headphone socket is possibly damaged, take it in to the manufacturers' agent or a shop that sells your make of player, for repair.

Bose 3 2 1 system

Try a reset buy unplugging the power cord for a minute or so before reconnecting. Also be sure you are using store-bought, region 1 discs, and not copies. If this does not work a repair may be necessary. There are no settings on the system that will prevent DVD audio from playing.
