Water accumulating on shelves in kenmore 72102100, turned off ice maker so its not that, and its not the water dispenser leaking, put pans in frig to see where water is dripping and its in the back by the vents, what causes this please?

Under the draws in the back, there should be a drain hole that drains water down to the drain pan under the unit. Check to make sure it's not blocked with food or frozen water.

Generally, this problem can be solved by replacing the water filter. The water filters have o-rings that self seal when installed. If you keep the same water filter to long those seals will start to leak. Fortunately for us, the water filter housing is right over the drip pan, and when it leaks it conveniently goes there.

To make sure take off the toe panel to the frig. If you have problems taking the toe panel off don't worry, they need to be yanked. Start on on side and really give it a tug. Once you get that off you will see how it clips in and you can remove the other side with ease.

Now, if it is not leaking currently, have someone get water from the dispenser while you are on the ground watching. You will be looking at the filter mind you, underneath the frig. You should be able to see it dripping right into the pan.

Now of course you could have another leak, but that is most likely what has happened. Passed that, you will have to see the leak to know what is leaking. You can get water from the dispenser, but if that doesn't work you will need to wait for the ice maker to make some ice. Then you can see if that is the problem.

To simply cut off the water supply to the ice maker you would just need to turn the ice maker to the off position. Then it would no longer ask for water :)

Does water in door dispenser taste bad? If not, Try arm and hammer fridge deoderizer. It will help to absorb fridge odors which may be clinging to water molecules in ice maker tray. Ice maker tray is open to freezer area.Water is very medium to infiltrate with odors. Try this first

During the defrost cycle heaters inside the walls of the freezer turn on to melt the frost. The melted frost "water" is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it will evaporate. I think the drain line from the freezer to this pan may be blocked. I'd also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it lets a lot of moisture into the freezer which means more water during the defrost cycle. I'd also recommend checking to make sure the ice maker is not leaking.

Hi!!! make sure your icemaker filling tube is not blocked with ice.its where the water comes into the icemaker .it can freez on you.put a hair dryer on to the filling tube and icemaker for 30 minutes. Also you can jump start the icemaker by putting a jumper wire show in this picture .If no ice then go to the back your frig and change your water valve ..

I believe the problem is with the drain line when the frig goes into defrost mode

see if you can trace the drain line that oes into the evaporator pan at the bottom of the frig

facing the frig remove the bottom panel that goes across the front and pull out the evaporator tray to see if it is dry

take a flashlight and see if you can see a plastic tube that the water should be dripping into the pan

try to trace the tube up into the frig ther is some type of catch basin inside the frig on the back panel usually around middle area

well there is two things it could be low water pressure or ur ice maker is defective try replaceing the ice maker this should work if not u need to get a frig repair man out to help u because if the problem is in the frezzer door it is not easy to fix on ur own

Is this a self defrost refrig. if it is then it might be doing that, which then you might want to look for the drain that is suppose to drain into this pan. It might be missing the pan try that, let us know thanks.

test: first, turn off water supply to frig. then dry up all water. then ensure frig is running at right temperature. now gradually turn on water and observe where leak is. My guess is it is overflowing the ice-maker. there is an adjustment for this. pop off the cover over the end of the ice-maker. look for a screw adjustment. turn it counterclockwise.
