Hi! I am having a problem with my subs. They use to work, but sometimes would go off and on. Recently they havent been working at all. I know its not the amp, because all the lights are go and light green. I even tested the cables connecting from the amp to the subs, and there is output, but no sound. My uncle and I even tried connecting the cables to an old speaker he had lying around, and stil no sound! i was thinking maybe its the cable connecting the amp to the cd player? i dont know. any suggestions on what it can be? or any estimate on how much it would cost to have a pro check it out? thanks.
I am a simple person so english would be good, my amp works and my cables to my amp work as if i take a cable out of my amp the light goes off so i know its not my cable to my amp and i have used that live tester thingy so i know everythings getting power, and the sub works as i have connected the sub to a normal speaker and it works so i dont understand the problem, why cant i get no sound?
Ay man I had the sam problem. What's happening is your amp is taking in too much power and too much heat. In my car I have a aduibahn amp that matches the box like yours. You should try turning off "bass boost" and/or "sub sonic" or "game" on your amp if it has those options. This will cause less heat and power and prevent your amp form haveing a terminal shutdown which is what Im confident is happenening. Also does your ride have AC? If not you should try letting your back seats down just to test it. Cause if your car is hot, then imagine how hot the trunk would be. Check your auxilary wires (The wires running form amp to CD player), and remember to make sure you have them hooked up correctly in the back. If that doesn't work, check to make sure your amp has power; just because the lights are on doenst mean there is power to output. Check this by making sure it is connected to the battery, the positive and negative are attatched correctly, and the fuse is OK. The wires from CD player to amp give it its lights.
Chck da fus on powr cord, it nds to b tight not shaking i had that prob, now it works
You should check the output power on your amp because it is possible that these speakers may be to much for it. easy way to check this it to touch your amp when its been running for about 15 minutes if it is hot then it is overheating and thats why it won't give out sound.
Try adding a capacitor for the amp, check wires by installing new ones... try replacement amp :) this goes for all ppl with same problem .. (noticed it`s a 1 y old thread ;) )
Sounds like have a break in you wires - replace them with a good quality wire -- make sure you use the correct gage wire - the amount of power that you are pushing to the sub makes a big difference on the gage of the speaker wire. M
Ummm if you want to try this take you deck out get a new set or r.c.a.s and just run them over you seat to your amp and try that to see if you get any power to your subs. also even if your amp lights up dose not mean it works the out put of your amp might not work.
SOURCE: I have this same problem
Check the power with a volt meter. The battery power, then the remote power. Also make sure it's grounded properly. bad grounds cause mayhem.
SOURCE: power in amp but no sound to speakers
you need to make sure youre getting a signal from the source, RCA's I suppose. Check for loose connections or broken wires. make sure to have 12v+ on power and remote inputs at amp...proper ground too. Lastly, check your ohm loads at speakers, maybe one is about dead. make sure crossover settings are correct.
good luck!

I have a single orion H2 12.2 sub in an open box. I am also run a JL Audio 1000/1 amp. I know the amp works better than ok. The problem is that the sub does not produce sound, I can not believe that the sub is blown. I have the voice coils wired paralled to run 1 omh. I have replaced all the wires between the sub and the amp still no sound. What gives??
hi i have a crunch amp, and this problem just happened, happened before with my boss amp also. I had both the amp's pushing 1 12" sub and i had it bridged with sub wired for 4ohm, all i did to fix it was un-bridge the amp, and everything was fine, even after i re-bridged it, seemed to work fine. Both amp's this fix works, hope thats helpful
