Won't turn off

At the end of the cycle, the dryer lights stay on after the beeps that indicate the cycle is done. Then after a couple of minutes the dryer turns on for about 5 seconds then shuts off again, beeps again but the indicator lights don't turn off and it keeps restarting like that until I press the cancel button.

Why does my dryer end its cycle early?

depending on what type of model. there is a moisture sensor inside the dryer. when you use any cycle other than time dry. if it is a small load ( 2 -3 shirts) it may not touch that cycle. making the machine think that things inside are dry and cut the time short. you can try time dryer and see if that helps. to check if moisture sensor on you dryer is working some models will have a test mode to make sure its sensing. try pressing more time button, then less time button back and fourth. all lights should come on. then you can open door. and when put your hand across the moisture sensor usually near the lint trap. you should hear a beep. to indicate that its reading moisture, meaning good..

My GE DCVH680EJWW front load dryer shuts off after a couple minutes when its in the sensor dry cycle, but stays on in timed dry cycle , is there a way to reset the dryer?

It could be a dirty moisture sensor. If it can't sense the moisture from the clothes, it thinks that they are dry and ends the cycle.

Whirlpool Dryer works on 1 cycle

Activate the diagnostic test mode to determine the functionality of the console buttons and the console electronics as a whole.

Diagnostic Mode Activation Procedure

  1. Make sure the machine is plugged and in standby mode. That is, no indicator light is on.
  2. Press the following keypad sequence within five seconds: More Time>Less Time>More Time>Less Time. All of the indicator lights should light up and "88" is displayed.
  3. Turn the cycle selector knob one complete rotation. When the knob points to a cycle, the corresponding indicator light should turn off and the machine should beep. Only a beep is heard when the knob points at the large spaces between the Automatic and Manual cycle groups.
  4. A beep should be heard when a button is pressed and the indicator light corresponding to it should turn off.
Any failure on the above tests indicates a faulty console board. Please let me know the result of the test for further troubleshooting and repair guide.

drying cycle is finished. Promptly removing clothes at the end of
the cycle reduces wrinkling.

It won't stop beeping all the time. We have tried everything. It beeps 3 times, all the buttons light up and it makes me crazy!! I want it to beep when the load is done - that's it.

When the Cycle Signal Control is ON (turn off) a signal will sound at the end of each cycle and
during the Press Saver setting (some models). The volume is adjustable on some
models.

The control panel stays lit after cycle ends. it won't shut off and beeps several times during cycle

Hello grumpy 96
Welcome,

You said, the control panel stays lit after cycle ends. it won't shut off and beeps several times during cycle

First try Pressing STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
If this does not do the trick.

Sounds like we need to try to reset the system!

Huuum At your service!
Lets try this,
Like with an error code.
This can reset the system if it is electronic!
Unplug the appliance and wait a 5 minutes then restart it.
If you can't reach the plug, use the breaker to cut the power for 5 minutes.

It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects some error problems if they are not serious.
Or they are sometimes just a glitch.

Let me know how it works!
Waiting for your reply!

Please remember to leave a rating when you are done!
Thank You
Huuum
