Water in refrigerator

From what I can tell, the water in my fridge is due to a clogged drain line. How do I find where it is? I have a Roper model # RT18DKFXW01 and it leaks about a quart of water a day. HELP!! I have the same problem. Where is the drain hose located? Did this work for you? I have a Roper Model RT21LMXKT04. I'm tired of dealing with all this water. Help!

Samsung refridgerator freezes due to clogged drain line.

I would look for bad door gaskets. Sounds crazy but if you have bad gaskets, you will let in more moist air and the freezer will freeze up faster. If the fridge is freezing up I would look at the slide from the freezer to the fridge and see if it is stuck open. During the defrost cycle the unit should drain and fill the drain pan, but the normal operation of the compresser should be able to evaporate the water with ease. Look at the door gaskets and the vent. Good luck

How do I clear a plugged defrost coil drain line?

You will need to Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into the drain line with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of 1/4 inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog. This will correct the issue.

Water is getting into the refrigerator. there is

If the fridge has the freezer on top - the problem is in clogged drain under the evaporator.Whenever the defrost cycle is activated (every 6-12 hours), the water will drain not to the drain pan underneath the fridge, but into the air vents between the sections. Depending on the make/model to get to the drain line you may need either:
  • to remove the back cover in the freezer section;
  • remove the bottom of the freezer section;
  • remove the console with controls on the ceiling of the fresh food section
  • get behind the fridge, find the drain line going to the pan under the fridge remove the drain line and clean.
Good luck.

Roper refrigerator leaks

Good job! most people do not know about the evaporator drain.
I would check the tubing to the icemaker, icemaker inflow valve and, water filter.

Water in bottom of refrigerator coming from freezer (not really sure of the exact model as I'm not home to double check).

If water appears on the floor in front of the refrigerator once or twice a day, it could be due to a clog in the defrost drain tube. The usual evidence of a clogged drain in a side-by-side refrigerator is ice under the bottom basket in the freezer compartment, in addition to a puddle of water on the floor. Whirlpool Custom Series refrigerator leaks -Model ET18JKXSN05

It sounds like the line you found is for draining the water from the defrost cycle. It should drain the water from melting the ice into the pan at the bottom so it will evaporate. Sounds like its being clogged is the cause of the water in your fridge.

Kenmore # 63142 Fridge -- Water in Freezer

If water drains out, then there is always a blockage somewhere on drain line.

Defrost the unit completely to get rid of ice building inside drain lines.

If that does not work , then the drain line must be unlocked using a flexible shaft.

Roper whirlpool model 2314273-A

This sounds like a defrost drain problem. Behind the panel in the back of freezer is a heater that defrosts the evaporator and below that is a drain hole. They will occasionally get clogged or just freeze over Pour hot water down it until it thaws then check to see if the water drains normally. If it drains after thawing then get a small length regular electrical wire and twist one end around the heater. You should get enough to extend the other end 2 or 3in into the drain hole. Now when the heater turns on it will heat the wire and thaw any ice in the top of the drain.
If you can't get water to drain then there is something clogging the drain tube and you'll have to find a way to clear it. I use a steamer that has a small tip to build pressure and force the clog out. Hope this helps.

Water in bottom of Roper Refrigerator/Freezer Unit

I have the same problem. I suspect the drain line for the auto defrost is clogged and so the water is dripping down into the fridge. (The water from the auto defrost cycle is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it evaporates over a period of a few days). I have yet to locate the drain line though.
